Welp, here we are. Only roughly a week since my last video, and I'm back again. Don't expect things to continue like this! Regardless, felt it's about time I take a look at a Minecraft ARG, as they've finally started becoming popular. What do I mean by that? Simply, I'm surprised it took until ~2021 for Minecraft ARGs to start REALLY being made. Sure, there's some earlier ones with Alex Bale making OldRoot in 2014, but still. There's also a genre known as Minecraft Creepypasta, which is basically what Herobrine and Entity 303 documentaries fall into now. However, I don't consider those specifically unfiction, let alone ARGs. So, yeah. This video's sorta inspired by RetroGamingNow and RT60, but also others in the horror-sphere. AKA Nexpo, Night Mind, and Inside A Mind. Even if - again - my commentary can be more... Upfront, opinion-wise (like when ScareTheater dunked on Awake). Try not to, but I can't help it at times!

Imagine if this whole ARG just wraps up to be a marketing stunt for the "The Hive" Minecraft server.
  • the scariest part of this arg is the atrocious way these people play minecraft.
  • This is one of the ARGs I've had on my list for a while. Nice video!
  • Those "mushroom repeating structures" are supposed to resemble flowers I think And the boats/minecarts hiding hunger bars was a feature at one point
  • @AlmyTheAlien
These gaming ARG channels are the equivalent of uploading video proof of aliens, titling it "hanging out with some cool dudes on my uncle's farm 04/15/2007," not even acknowledging anywhere in the video or description that they're aliens, leaving a "wink wink nudge nudge" in the tags, and only ever bringing it up in a random Cantonese sentence on your Myspace.

btw, in older versions of minecraft, you lose your hunger bar when you go into a boat, minecart, or ride a horse/pig
  • I love the use of different classic indie games in this ARG. Very unique.
  • @ptinori
i adore the use of different gameplay methods and texture packs to convey different perspectives. so much nicer than throwing some big bold text in the corner saying "PLAYER TWO"

Oh god seeing Space Funeral and Off be used was really sick, that's two of my favourite RPG Maker games Also one small nitpick; disobeyance is absolutely a word and is a seldom used synonym for disobedience, although used mostly for infracting on established rules (in like a professional or legal sense) rather than against some kind of general command. It's almost more formal, it fits better in an employee handbook like this rather than disobedience. Like you would use "in disobeyance of the law" rather than "in disobedience of the law." Sorry, I need to put my English degree to work at least SOMETIMES

Oh boy, what a crossover: minecraft, terraria, space funeral, gmod and off, and was that a map of the city from gta 2 in the first gmod video?
  • @HarunoSoul
I think the person who made this Arg just really likes bees.
  • i love how at the start the guy wasnt even scared and just was shocked and didnt say the F bomb ONCE. just "frick"
  • @MelodicVHS
I'll be honest, I did not keep with this one, it just felt like it was cobbled together and trying to be creepy with poor character acting, but I hope this video proves me wrong. edit: after watching it, while the ARG has some cool things to it I feel that they should've focused more on answering questions and providing a cohesive story instead. The entire ARG feels almost aimless and some of the clues feel needlessly cryptic and otherwise meaningless. The ARG feels like they just went with a spooky concept with bees and ran with it, writing the story as they went along.
  • @uraniumUmlaut
He did not just say What the Frick, what's next?? Jeepers??? Jinkies???? Zoinks????
  • Fun fact: The Gmod gameplay in the background is filmed on what I assume is an older version of a map that is called "Gm_Nester"

Something weird I noticed was if you watch this with subtitles you can periodically see a “thank you” and “foreign” appear even though there's just music, might be a bug in the subtitles or maybe somehow on purpose?
