Finally, the custom fitted and trimmed top for this 130 year old shepherd's wagon is done. We're almost ready to send this project home! It's been a long journey from the rubble we started with and I appreciate you all coming along.

Spring for mugs, tee-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies.

  • I hope these videos are stored somewhere safe so future generations can sit and watch a genuine craftsman at his work.

This has been nothing short of two masterpieces - the wagon build and the filmography. Thank you both for sharing your work.

What a splendid adaptative reconstruction of that dilapidated old sheep wagon which you gave a breath of new life into. This sheep wagon will be one of the most admired displays in this museum. I want to thank you for your descriptive interpretative adaptation process encountered in this build. Also, thank you Mrs. Engel for your professional camera work and editing of these videos content.
  • I believe your customer will be very satisfied with your restoration. Think of all the people and generations to come who will get to appreciate all you have done.
  • With your videos, people will know how to do such things in 100 years, and you will live forever.

"I have a pile of rotten wood and scrap metal, could you turn it into a sheep waon for me"? Dave, "hold my beer".

Mr. Engel, Another Masterpiece completed. Thank you for allowing me to watch.......
  • Thank you for taking me with you on this restoration project. You are not just a master craftsman of many areas but a real old world craftsman.

Watching you manufacture this practically from scratch is incredible. Your level of skill is second to none, Mr. Engel.
  • Beautiful work. Something to be cherished and appreciated by everyone that sees it for many years to come. Thank you very much for taking us along this journey. All the best to you and the wife.
  • Another amazing example of your craftsmanship. I watched this one from them beginning and was continually amazed thru the process.

Man, I really would like to spend a couple of days in a wagon like this. It really triggers my imagination to think about all my fellow Swedes that left Sweden, searching for a new life on the other side of the world. It's been a blessing following along on this build. Thank you!

I personally enjoy watching your videos because I always learn something. And, your smooth narrations and the background music rounds out these great tutorials.

It is such a joy to watch you practice your trade reconstructing these fantastic pieces of history. Growing up on our farm in Missouri I saw so many derilect wagons and pieces of equipment left to slowly self destruct I always wondered what they looked like brand new. Your restorations really satisfy my childhood curiosity. Thank you for taking the time to record and produce this record of your craft, it is truly wonderful to watch and learn. Sincerely, Kirk Skaggs
  • You make all of this process ... look so easy. Its an honor to have the opportunity to see these videos.
  • Watching you finish this work of art inspired me to look up "How the West was won" on YT. Plenty of work there for a man with your talents! My mother died last year. She was100 days short of her 100th birthday. My sister and I are just dividing up her boxes of Christmas decorations. We found the six small, rather dowdy baubles which survived the Blitz when her home was blown to pieces by a German bomb on 15th Sep 1940. She treasured them as remnants of a happy childhood and we will treasure them too. You talked, in another video, about living a mundane life. I believe that by holding true to the glories of your past you have achieved a kind of quiet immortality. Nothing mundane about the value of what you and Diane have done with your lives. So the next time you sit down together, raise a glass to each other with a toast "To the treasures we have saved. Job well done". Paul
  • Your final result of this sheep herder’s wagon is a masterpiece of workmanship and an excellent demonstration of the many crafts once common, of an era long past and now mostly forgotten, though still practiced by a select few craftsmen such as you. The craftsmen of Amish and Mennonite religious sects that live in my area also come to mind… Thank you again for reconstructing this sheep herder’s wagon and documenting the entire process. It has been a joy to watch your transformation from a pile of deteriorated pieces to a beautifully finished vehicle.
