My skin generally is dry, but my nose gets oily and I've had these sebaceous filaments forever and always thought these are blackheads...
  • @chellycordoba6946
I used to think they were blackheads, But ever since Iā€™ve cut down on my skincare routine thanks to you, theyā€™re definitely looking better šŸ˜Š

The epitome of combination skin - I have KP (a dry skin condition) on my cheeks and sebaceous filaments on my nose. #winning

Today I learned that I don't have many whiteheads/blackheads at all, I have SEBACEOUS FILAMENTS. Small revolution in my thinking and approach. Thank you for the ongoing skincare education!

My dad had tons of sebaceous filaments and the oiliest of skin with no history of acne just tons of oil. And so do I. He passed away at 95 and didnā€™t look a day over 80. The oil kept him young. I am 40 and people tell me I look 30 at the most. I credit his genes, oily skin and Retin A! I will take sebaceous filaments over wrinkles and sagging any day!

As a dietitian, I appreciate the focus you put on diet in having better skin and health in general.

Wow. Paula's Choice BHA liquid exfoliant worked so fast - and didn't irritate my 70 y/o skin! Thank you.

I have never been happier to see a video. I have been struggling with this for years and thought they were blackheads. I am having monthly facials now to help with this.

I never buy anything I can't get at a drug store but I finally ordered that Paula's Choice product and it really helps.

She says it as I'm squeezing and tweezing. Gonna have to finish this session though, already started.

I love that you referenced more budget-friendly options too, good to see that I don't have to spend 200 euros just to get a skincare routine. Thank you!

Gotta love how careful and thoughtful you are when commenting on eating habits. It's so nice to see a responsible being making videos that - thank god! - are largely watched. Thank you, dr Dray!
  • @ForeverChiTonight
I love how you mention people donā€™t have to buy all that stuff at once !
  • Dr. Dray just have a way of making me sit on the couch and listen to her without skipping.

I have switched from silicone-based moisturizers, sunscreens, and makeup to products that are primarily oil- or wax- based, and my filaments are gone (or invisible at least). I do use AHA/BHAs and I think that helps, but I was using those before and it wasn't until I started avoiding silicones that my condition markedly improved. (I use Josie Maran's sunscreen SPF 47 if anyone is wondering. It might have a small amount of silicone (?) but it's more of an oily lotion. I use powder foundation.)

Simply said but never thought of it that way."Abusing your skin.".

I recently realized I was eating foods with little to no fiber and it was effecting my gut health, I now try and eat a good amount of fiber and I feel so much better!! this vid was so helpful
