Just purchased a Melodica, never played an instrument, but am an artist. It's so easy and fun to play along with my man Agustus Pablo. I recommend it to any dub fan who operates on a high frequency. And it's a very inexpensive instrument.

One of my favorite artist ever in music history Augustus Pablo is a extremely unique and a fascinating artist he really stood out as a reggae artist.

Pablo and Hugh.......are overlooked legends of reggae! Bob is the King, but these two are so overlooked in there respective styles of REGGAE!

The reggae festival called Reggae Japan Splash was a bit of a strange festival, as I didn't know what was going on until I arrived at the venue on the day of the event. In 1986, the cast of Japasp was Black Uhuru, Sugar Minott, Leroy Sibbles, and Sister Carol. The notice said, ``Black Uhuru, who was scheduled to perform today, has difficulty coming to Japan, and instead, Frankie Paul and Augustus Pablo have been decided to perform. 』 Since I was a junior high school student, I wanted to see Black Uhuru live, so it was a pity, but there were two substitutes! Moreover, one is Frankie Paul, a blind reggae singer, and the other is Augustus Pablo, a legendary melodica player who was said to rarely travel from Jamaica to other countries. To be honest, the substitute was a gorgeous and happy miscalculation. (Other years, Maxi Priest made a sudden visit to Japan to replace a mid-tier band.) When Augustus Pablo, who dislikes expeditions, why he bothered to come to such a distant country as Japan, he said in an interview, ``Japan has a ja in the name of the country. Besides, Jakarta and Jamaica are the only countries with ja. That's why I decided to come to Japan. (laughs) レゲエ・ジャパンスプラッシュというレゲエフェスは、当日、会場に着くまで、どうなっているのかわからない、ちょっと変わったフェスでした。 86年のジャパスプは、出演がブラック・ウフル、シュガー・マイノット、リロイ・シブルス、シスター・キャロルという布陣でしたが、当日、会場の前の張り紙を見て、小躍りしてしまいました。 張り紙に書いてあったのは、『本日出演予定だったブラック・ウフルは来日困難になり、代わりにフランキーポール、オーガスタス・パブロの出演が決定しました。』 中学生の頃から、ブラック・ウフルを生で見てみたいと願っていただけに残念ではあったのですが、なんと代役が2人も！しかも、1人は盲目の大物レゲエシンガーのフランキー・ポール、そしてもう1人が、滅多なことではジャマイカから他国に遠征することがないと言われていた伝説のメロディカ奏者であるオーガスタス・パブロ。正直な話、代役の方が豪華で嬉しい誤算でした。（他の年には、中堅どころのバンドに代わって、マキシ・プリーストが急遽来日したこともありました。） 遠征嫌いのオーガスタス・パブロが、なぜわざわざ日本などという遠い国に来る事になったというと、インタビューで彼曰く、『ジャパンという国名には、ジャーが入っている。他に、ジャーが入っている国名は、ジャカルタとジャマイカだけ。だから、ジャパンに来る事になった。』と、何言ってんだか（笑）。
