Published 2015-11-18
Our video is a guided walk in the Yorkshire Dales. Starting in Burnsall we follow the River Wharfe on the Dales Way to the bridge on Stangs Lane then make our way up to Simon's Seat. We return via Dalehead Farm and along Howgill Lane before retracing our steps following the river on the Dales Way. This is an easy to moderate walk on distinctive grass, stone, gravel paths and tracks. The actual ascent and descent of Simon’s Seat is steep in places.
Elevation: approx lowest point 126m (5,13ft) approx highest point 471m (1,545ft) approx ascent 562.70m (1,846ft).
Approx 8.3 miles allow 4 hours using OS Explorer Map OL2, Yorkshire Dales, Southern and Western areas. This walk is done anti-clockwise.
Start point: The Village Green next to Burnsall Bridge.
