April is really the vulnerability month…
-
bios update function should be inside the bios as a utility so you dont need a OS to update the bios
-
7:53 no Torvalds did exactly NOT say "autocorrect on steroids". i watched the interview where this was taken from. he specifically disagreed with the interviewer who said this line.
-
I've never really imagined flatpak's sandbox as providing me safety, more just customisation. Like, I would still treat a flatpak app as a cautiously as any other program I install.
-
I really want convenient sound themes. I want to make an acoustic pack. Digging into the XDG folders and swapping out ogg files by hand is tedious.
-
Framework updates better than most other manufacturers who drop 1 or 2 Bios updates and then abandon them for newer systems
-
Now let them rename pop os to cosmic os
-
For me the best thing about COSMIC theming is that it'll also theme libadwaita and flatpaks apps. On both GNOME and Plasma I have to hop through hoops to do that and even then whenever I want to have some different look I have to do it all over again. And there's even hope for as-easy QT theming, as mmstick said it on reddit: "Anything's possible if there's code to implement it". Just imagine all the apps following your theme that you can easily set and modify in a single settings page in couple clicks, amazing.

I'm very glad the Linux community is not as AI crazed
-
7:30 Gentoo complaining about wasted computing resources.
-
The point of Flatpak is package once, run anywhere, apps being independent of the OS, updates being independent of the OS, and sandboxing.
-
that x86 to arm translator is insane, imagine using that instead of qemu in CI/CD pipeline for cross compiling x86 using arm chips
-
i tested cosmic latest patch in Fedora . I have to say i'm quiet impressed ..nice job system76 and devs
-
LLMs could be used for some cool features, just currently we're in that highly-marketable phase of it. My biggest thing about it is that it requires data to train it, which means your data. I do wanna have a look at localai at some point for my homelab

Doesn't Framework use the Linux fwupd system? Even Dell do!
-
15:56 I am pretty amazing! And so are you! Thanks for the news!

Is the whole point of flatpak for end users really that the apps are sandboxed? As a user I want the latest version of an app, I don't particularly care if it's sandboxed or not, I just don't want to have to wait 6 months for my distro to update it's package versions. Yes the security is important, but imo flatpaks point for end users is easy and rootless install for the latest versions of apps.

I just love your commitment. I totally appreciate your hard work. I never miss your videos. I learn so much about from you.

Up until now I did not know the Super + Drag shortcut. Thank you so much :D
