  • Climbing a 5 story building in 6 seconds. OMG this is insanity.

I didn't know this was a sport, but I like it.

I bouldered for the first time this weekend and I definitely did not look like this

They are so crazy. They make it look like the rope is pulling them up
  • I understand why they keep the speed climbing route standardized ... and I also think it would make the sport more interesting if they competed in a new route each year or every other year AND the same standard route that exists. So they'd do two climbs per competition— the new route and the standard—then either add or average the times to determine the winner. That would allow athletes to showcase their ability to adapt and grow and innovate taking on the new wall while keeping up with the speed records of the standard route.
  • Holy crap!! They look like lizards scurrying up a rock face! Somebody should edit out the rope later so we can see what is really happening!!
  • Holy crap. 6 Seconds to climb what, would probably take me about 5 minutes. Wow! The speed at which they climb is just amazing. It's like they are just being pulled up and all they are doing is touching some points. I take that back. After looking at the height of that wall, there is no way I am doing that in 5 minutes. It would probably take me 20 minutes to get up there.

Didn't know this existed but it was awesome to watch. These athletes are amazing.

A "dirtbag" climber is someone who predominantly lives out of their car or camps near the rock climbing sites. They are like rock climbing nomads.

I watched a Youtube video where a guy ran up wide steps, climbing 300+ vertical feet in one minute, perhaps the record. amazing but a still only 1/2 as fast as this pace.
