I'm already on Pet Vet Barbie Gen and my heir Odette just became a teenager. I got her a puppy named Taffy for her birthday, who's a pink dalmatian since she's a dog lover. Then, I gave her the cat lover trait since she grew up with her mom Clara's cat Blissa (she passed away from old age before her birthday). I know you must let your heir have either Dog Lover trait or Cat Lover trait, but for me, it's optional to do both, so I followed my gut and went with it.
