  • Freya, how do we know we're not forcing our voice? I've heard and read a bad belting technique can cause nodules, so how do I learn to belt without harming o hurting my voice?

One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever heard is this: if you don’t think you’ll can hit the note... you can’t. If you believe you can hit the note easily, usually you will! It helped me out a lot as a alto subbing in for the lack of sopranos! I increased my range just by believing that could. A lot of it is feeling like you don’t need to be tense to get that note!

When go to high notes, I just sound like an opera singer.

Really enjoyed your advice, struggled for years trying to get higher with my low voice, started trying your method (shouting) and trying talking louder, I'm getting there. one song I have struggled with after trying your method I could actually get from low straight up to a higher note in the song, completely surprised. Now I need to practice your method much much more. Thank you.
  • I guess this is not for people who do not know how to yell healthy without using there vocal cords.
