  • Rest in Peace beautiful Olivia; from a so-called Baby Boomer. I remember when I first heard this song. I had recently graduated from high school in the greater Cleveland, Ohio. The persons who hired me were a group of elderly Jewish women and ower of Majestic Neckwere, a small store front hat and tie shop across the street, on Euclid Avenue, of the May Company department store. That was in 1973. There was a radio overhead in the shop. I listen to you all day on the pop music station. That weekend when I got my check, I went to the music store and purchase your first album, "Have You Never Been Mellow." I share it with alot of my college friends. We love you always! I love your songs throughout my career. God bless you Olivia! From earth to you in heaven, Dr. Jeffrey Perkins, Perkins, Jr., BS, MPA, Ph.D.

From all your fans in Jamaica. I'm in tears. You were a huge part of growing up. On the radio in the 70s you could be sure of two things...Your gonna hear Bob Marley or Olivia Newton John...RIP my angel..

I'm a 42-year-old black man who grew up in Detroit and listened to nothing but soul and rap. But at an early age, thanks to MTV, I figured out who this lovely gem was. "Grease" helped a lot with this too. I have to say this is my favorite song of hers. "Magic" is a close second.
  • Life was so simple back then music was great. Feel sorry for this generation. What a mess
  • I can't believe the woman I love since I was a kid in 1978 is gone ..R.I.P. Olivia Newton John 😪🙄🙏

Along with Karen Carpenter, Olivia ruled the airwaves. A great singer and great beauty.
  • As a 57 year old African American man this was the first song I fell in love with as a 10 year old. It really mellowed me down. I thank you Olivia for such a beautiful song and voice. Music back then had no stereotype it was simply beautiful. Sad day for me. You're a legend!

This particular song will make a guy melt every time. Olivia - the best and most appealing female singer of all time for sure. She will live on forever !
  • Growing up in a group home where me and my brother were the only two Black American kids. We grew up to hear soft music. This was one of my favorites to this day. I told my brother yesterday she passed he was very sad. He remembers me going down the hall singing this song. Brought back memories. RIP Olivia Newton John 🥲🥲

My Father had this album and even though I wasn’t allowed to use his stereo, when he would go to work, I would play this album over and over again, memorizing every song and singing them to myself while riding my bike around the neighborhood. Her voice was so lovely that listening to her made me feel lovely too, which at the awkward age of thirteen probably contributed to the special ‘bond’ I felt for her. Sincerely sad to hear she lost her battle with cancer. 😞
  • RIP, sweet lady. I sang your songs at the top of my lungs as I drove down the highways, and was thoroughly happy. Miss you.
  • So sad today, August 8th, 2022. RIP sweet Olivia! You were an angelic presence with an angelic voice. You fought cancer like a warrior,, since 1992. You were a wonderful singer, actress, and human being. You will never be forgotten, honey. Your legacy will live on. You are and always will be a shining star. RIP sweet Olivia! You will be terribly missed; but you're no longer suffering. 💜🙏🌟

Wow, huge loss. My childhood is filled with her voice and songs. I’m African American 55 years old. She was the girl everybody dreamed of having. Very sweet and humble.

I was 7 yrs old in 1975 and this was one of the songs I heard that I remember fondly.
  • Have you never been happy just to hear your song? Yes I have! I was a 19 year old African American in 1975, this was my song to sing! Great timeless music will cross over and touch many hearts, and this song still sounds just as good today as it did then. Rest in peace, Olivia Newton- John 🙏🏽🎶🎶
