Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
The image in your eyes
Reflecting the pain that has taken you
I hear it in your voice, so ridden with shame
From what's ailing you

[Pre-Chorus]
I won't give up, so don't give in
You've fallen down, but you can rise again
So don't give up

[Chorus]
When the demon that's inside you is ready to begin
And it feels like it's a battle that you will never win
When you're aching for the fire and begging for your sin
When there's nothing left inside, there's still a reason to fight

[Verse 2]
Lost in your world of lies
I find it so hard to believe in you
Can it be real this time
Or just a part of this game that we're playing through?

[Pre-Chorus]
I won't give up, so don't give in
You've fallen down, but you will rise again
I won't give up

[Chorus]
When the demon that's inside you is ready to begin
And it feels like it's a battle that you will never win
When you're aching for the fire and begging for your sin
When there's nothing left inside, there's still a reason to fight

[Bridge]
Don't let it take your soul
Look at me, take control
We're going to fight this war
This is nothing worth dying for

[Interlude]
Are you ready to begin?
This is a battle that we are gonna win

[Chorus]
When you're aching for the fire and begging for your sin
When there's nothing left inside, there's still a reason
When the demon that's inside you is ready to begin
And it feels like it's a battle that you will never win
When you're aching for the fire and begging for your sin
When there's nothing left inside, there's still a reason to fight

[Outro]
I'll be your reason to fight
Give you a reason to fight

  • My dad showed me this song when I was shooting dope and I was trying to severe our relationship. I won my battle over addiction because of my dad never gave up on me. I'm two+ years sober.

When you used to be a homeless addict and you're sitting here listening to this song 100% clean with a totally different life, it hits me straight to the core. We do recover!
  • This song literally saved my life. I was close to suicide, but my little sister showed me this song and I instantly cried. It reminded me the most important: The reason. Family, friends, people that care about me, who motivate me to keep on even when life gets hard. Now I'm going to a psychologist and I'm getting better. Don't give up guys, you worth more than you could even think, keep on the fight and everything will get better.
  • As a 74 year old granny I found you the way many my age have listening to The Sound of Silence. Since then I have danced, laughed and cried to your music. Thank you for The Reason to Fight as it is very personal to me. Hold on to Your Memories has me sobbing as I list my beautiful husband Ed. You also have me dancing around the house with joy.
  • People saying this is a washed down Disturbed.I think it's one of the deepest songs yet.🔥

Am 81 yr. old grandma and Love Disturbed... the message is wonderful. Know not a lot of people my age like this kind of music... but man, you are missing out on so much. I listen to classical music... big bands from 30s and 40s... original rock and roll... big hair bands... jazz.... country... gospel... etc. etc. And everything in between... including todays popular music... keep it coming Disturbed... we love you ❤
  • I have 5 days sober from heroin and xanax today. And I am definitely fighting this demon. I don't know what's going to happen but I plan on fighting with every fiber of my being. The song definitely helps.

I know the real artist of this won't see this. But this song literally saved my life. I was so close to suicide and this song was placed on my lap. Thank you so much for saving me.

I am nearing 60. My generation grew up on Simon and Garfunkel, so I didn't really believe anyone else could do that song justice. I heard your version and it took me emotionally to places the original only hinted at. So I listened to a couple more of your songs, but couldn't get into them, just too hardcore for this "old" woman. But I wanted to listen to more of what you have to offer, because I knew after listening to your cover of the sound of silence, that you were truly great and had more to offer. And this song proves it. Thank you for recording more songs that listeners other than hard-core rock fans can relate to, admire and be inspired by. You have a phenomenal voice and your videos truly Bring home the message of the lyrics. I am now officially a fan

This Song is my Hymn of friendship. I struggled with years of depression and childhood trauma. My Family either didnt care or discarded me. The one thing that kept me going were my friends who proofed that I'm worth the fight. They gave me my reason to fight
  • @FRSPK
Saw them live 2 days ago and seeing david break down after this song shows that everyone is human and fights demons. This song is my new favorite from them
  • My wife passed away 5 months ago and this was one of the songs said was one of our songs. In this hard time it still is a guide for me from her.
  • This is my fight song while I fight alcohol addiction so far I'm six months clean. This has been the hardest thing I've ever had to fight against.
  • The fact that he’s a former addict makes this song so much more powerful to me. He speaks from experience.

As a recovering addict and alcoholic with almost 2 years clean and sober, I can definitely relate to this song. Thank you, Disturbed, for having the balls to speak out about this epidemic.
  • @zchild12
When you reach out begging for help but no human will grab your hand music will always be there
