"The theme song to the Soprano's, plays in the key of life on my mental piano..." that line alone to begin the song is just amazing. It shows how much more intellectual Jay is compared to a lot of other rappers. He's very smart. Best rapper ever.

I first heard this my freshman year of college. I still get goose bumps when it comes on.

I was a jay-z hater foremost but now I see the bigger picture of how someone with a little bit of talent and tremendous hunger and drive could accumulate whatever he wanted (Greatness) by just never giving up and always believing in himself.

Ass goblin and cheese. This intro was greatness. However, I'm still taking the DMX It's Dark and Hell is Hot intro as number 1.

Quite simply... The BEST intro to ANY album of all time.

This is one of the finest intros to ANY album, Hip Hop or other, ever produced. The beat, the lyrics......all of it. No wonder this album was lauded by DJ premo as one of his favourites.
