I'm no big Jay-Z fan but this is one of the best intros hands down. The word play on this song was incredible.
-
I first heard this my freshman year of college. I still get goose bumps when it comes on.
-
"The theme song to the Soprano's, plays in the key of life on my mental piano..." that line alone to begin the song is just amazing. It shows how much more intellectual Jay is compared to a lot of other rappers. He's very smart. Best rapper ever.
-
probably the greatest intro ever.........my favorite music artist ever......PERIOD
-
Classic hands down..this intro better then SONGS lol
-
Man!!! When i heard this for the first time back in 2000, i listened to this intro like 5 or 6 times in a row.
-

-
Roc-a-fella .... The greatest thing ever happened to rap and Hiphop. Rap and Hiphop is the greatest thing ever happened to the music industry. and music is on of the greatest things ever happened to us.
-
this beat is so raw !!!! OMG one of the best beats in hip hop dude
-
I was a jay-z hater foremost but now I see the bigger picture of how someone with a little bit of talent and tremendous hunger and drive could accumulate whatever he wanted (Greatness) by just never giving up and always believing in himself.
-
This joint, and the Stillmatic intro are the best intro's I've ever heard!!!
-
This is one of the finest intros to ANY album, Hip Hop or other, ever produced. The beat, the lyrics......all of it. No wonder this album was lauded by DJ premo as one of his favourites.
-
Quite simply... The BEST intro to ANY album of all time.
-
I listened to this song about 10 straight times while working out today.
-
