At NOCD, we understand how scary, mortifying, and isolating it can feel to suffer from taboo and disturbing themes of OCD. We hope to provide a space for everyone who may feel ashamed, disturbed, or guilty about their thoughts, or embarrassed to share their experiences with others, to feel heard and understood, no matter what their OCD theme is.

This workshop was hosted by Alegra Kastens, LMFT, a NOCD Partner and founder of the Center for OCD, Anxiety, and Eating Disorders, who has dealt with taboo intrusive thoughts herself and speaks about them openly on social media to destigmatize them for others, and Cody Fournier, LICSW, who has also experienced disturbing thoughts firsthand and now helps others conquer OCD as a NOCD Therapist.

I really wish they had recorded the Q&A. I know they want to protect privacy, but they could have just not read the names. It would have been helpful for me to see what people asked.
