Do Pronomian (Pro-Law) Christians "Hate Jesus" and Reject His Work on the Cross?

Christian author and teacher Michael Kelley (‪@bibleInspiredTopics‬) insists that Christians who obey and teach God's Law "hate Jesus" and are "literally rejecting what Jesus did on the cross for us." He also claims that God's Law is "bondage" and that Jesus freed us from our obligation to obey it. In support of these assertions, Michael cites passages that, according to him, illustrate a dichotomy between the Torah and Jesus's commandments. Additionally, he argues that the implications of Jesus's heavenly high priesthood include the establishment of a new law that supersedes the Law of Moses. In this video, I examine Michael's arguments in support of these assertions.

  • Lol it amaze me till this day when the messiah said I have not come to abolish the law. I have not come to do that. I don't understand how people just don't get that? Crazy
  • If keeping the commandments of the law means we hate Jesus...then when they don't tell lies, don't commit adultery, etc. they hate Jesus. Passover is just as much a commandment of God's Law as any other.
  • Another great video. I appreciate how gracious you are in approaching brothers and sisters who disagree with us. You're an inspiration and a good example of how to lovingly disagree. As a very passionate person I am not always as good at this.
  • I by no means grew up in the faith. I picked up a Bible for the first time when I was 30 years old. Naturally, as any Christian I started in the New Testament. Why? Because "we are under a new covenant".... I read it all, from Matthew to Revelation and a lot of questions were raised. I then decided to read the Whole book. Of course I did a lot of Bible study provided by the SDA guys on YouTube, but I could not connect the studies to the scriptures and the strange cross references to prove that the "Law was done away with". So I did all I could. I prayed for guidance, and God heard and granted. Now I am learning HIS ways, and I have much to learn but everything makes so much more sense. Praise YAH for His Loving Kindness and Patience. And may Workers such as David continue to reach those who have an ear to hear. Shalom Brother David, thank you for your patience in making these videos.

There are 2 arguments that I always here from Christians concerning the law of Moses. 1) It was done away with the death/burial/resurrection/ascension of Yeshua. 2) Christ has a different set of laws (which some overlap with Moses). In both cases they are pitting the Son against the Father, which is bad theology and a misunderstanding of scripture.

That is one of the most ludicrous statements I have ever heard. Obeying the two foundational commandments, the ten commandments, and the 200 plus of the 613 instructions that actually apply to us today under the new covenant, (omitting ones relating to a Temple, Levitical priesthood, or living in the physical land of Israel) does NOT place us under bondage. In fact, it is the exact opposite: they are liberating and result in our protection and blessing!

They’re only reading Paul, not Jesus. Peter warned that it was confusing and to not be led into lawlessness.
  • This is such a great video, you broke it down so well! I love Yeshua and His law!❤

That verse in Hebrews is a slam dunk. How can anyone get around the author validating the Torah? But they sure do try.

Torah is repeated in Matthew 23:3 when Yahushua commands us to observe what the scribes and Pharisees tell us to do. It connects to Acts 15:21 since they were in the seat of Moses.

His first mistake is thinking a perfect law would be bondage.
  • Laws of Yah controversies of the Gospels are on issues of Halacha (based on biblical commandments (mitzvot), subsequent Talmudic and rabbinic law Halacha teaches how to behave between others and God) The N.T. uses paradosis for Jewish Halachah (Rabbinic rules for walking out Torah): For example see Matthew 15:2,3,6; Mark 7:3,5,8,9,13. Paul uses it in a negative sense in Colossians 2:8 “tradition of men,” and in a positive sense for his own instruction as to how believers should walk (1 Cor 11:2; Gal 1:14; 2 Thess 2:15; 3:6). If only mainstream protestant christians could understand this concept.... there would be ONE church instead of 47,300 "denominations". Shabbat shalom

I would love to hear your explanation of hebrews 8 about the new covenant and why Jesus said, in Matthew 5, nothing would change in the law until all was fulfilled and then listed changes in the next 27+ verses. It's a big change in the law from thou shalt not murder your neighbor, to you can't be angry with or hate your neighbor.
  • @TorahLove-
Thank you for addressing the last part about Hebrews and the heavenly priesthood. Its actually something ive been going over and contemplating at this time in my study of the Word. Its very helpful!

Great teaching. Something for some to think about: When Yeshua gives The Sermon on the Mount he is giving the true application of the original commandment given. Like do not commit adultery has always meant, do not look upon a woman with lust. Job knew this already was true. Also, if Yeshua brought a new set of Commandments he would be adding to, which we are commanded not to add to nor take away from. Yeshua was with the father from the beginning before the foundations of the Earth. Everything commanded through Moses the Son also agreed with, as he said i am in the father and the Father is in me..

Everytime i get confused by mainstream church teachings about the Torah, i always go back to Matthew 5:17-20. Our Master was the one speaking here. He would not contradict Himself.
