This is my review and tour of the Anvil Carrack. The tour is very detailed and I took my time to go over the ship in depth so this video has a longer run time than most. I did include the various decks of the Carrack as timelines so you can skip around within the tour itself.

Great video, thank you! I love the Carrack and use it regularly with a small group of people for bunker missions. FYI, the Origin 890 Jump also has a Tier 2 bed, so the Carrack isn't the only one. Again, really appreciate the time taken for this ship review...please keep them coming!

I just got the carrack and it’s a really good ship. It’s have many good uses. I see why people really love this ships
  • @lsendall
ok this is not the only respawn ship, the 890j has a tier 2 bed that allows respawning.
  • I was a gunnery officer on a Carrack for my org for a few months. The carrack, for me, really highlights how much better seated turrets are than remote turrets. The carrack is built to go way out exploring, but I found it needs constant repair to stay in fighting shape. I'm interesting to see how that goes when pyro rolls out.
  • @aspejcher
Agreed. The Carrack needs more paint options.

They need a medical modules, science modules & vehicle modules. It would be nice if the Anvil ship could carry Anvil vehicles. And the ability to refuel/repair said vehicles. Which is actually critical for a long-haul explorer. Swapping out the 3 cargo modules for a vehicle/repair bay would even allow the Pisces to be parked there (when in ground mode) to repair/refuel it as well. Again, something vital for an explorer ship like the Carrack. The rear/main elevator also REALLY needs to go to the ground as it also goes to all 4 decks.

Great video thank you - just subscribed! I had my first ride in the Carrack today, I was so lost haha!
  • This was a great video! Fun fact; check the label of the bottle in the Captains quarters, as it comes from Picards winery... Would you consider weighing in on ships still in concept like the Polaris or the Orion, using the same format? I know I'd find that fascinating...

Great vid mate just like the other vid where U show a great Loadout for the ship

So long as you have a scout ship, the carrack is basically perfect; the time to bridge isn't even an issue. Only issue is that you need to have a mission box on the carrack if you leave on the scout ship so you can find it again. Set it to hover 10-15 km away and 10-15 km up from the target, and take the scout the rest of the way.
  • Great Vid and most useful. You did not mention the atmosphere the Carrack generates, as far as I know it's the only ship that makes noises even when powered down, which I think goes to it's lore as once military vehicles now sold second hand to citizens (which also explains it's aesthetics). For me this is the only ship with soul. In the gameplay lop section you mentioned all the stuff that does not currently have any gameplay loops but it can be very useful for all gameplay loops except direct mining (makes a good hauler to transport your refined goods though) and ship to ship bounty hunting (unless crewed). I agree it is too expensive both in real money and auec but as a mostly solo player I use it regularly for bunker missions, trading and as a hauler, I find after piloting it for so long I can get it on the ground quickly.

Great video... For recommendations on a future review, I'd vote for the Expanse -- even if we don't have it yet, we can still talk about it 😊

"I would like to see a red an gold scheme but that's just wishful thinking on my part." What can I say but, wish granted.

A correction to the feature on Med Beds tier 2 for respawn, the Origin 890 Jump also has a med bay with T2 bed. And as others have noted the 600i rework is expected to offer T2 bed as well as the Apollo. For serious buyers pick up LTI tokens and CCU links during IAE, Invictus ship sales, nobody should pay $600 for Carrack. With a little patience and planning many have linked war bond upgrades, LTI tokens to get Carrack $200-$400, yes and some early backers for less.
  • @Awerora
Great rundown on the Carrack! In my head I picture restless rebels loading one of the modules with space explosives and putting a space timer on them and dropping the module off at an automated processing system. Who am I kidding, I’m a normal law-abiding Citizen 😅
  • @Leptospirosi
If you are mostly a single player and sometimes you like to bring 3-4 people and explore, I'd recommend the 600i if money is not a factor. It will get (hopefully) a gold pass relatively soon, will get a medbay, a much larger cargo bay and a snub of some sort, possibly with a much needed increased range to cope with Pyro and Nix. You will control most of the firepower, there are remotely controlled turrets and, frankly, the 600i is a much more manageable ship then the Carrack, while a still being larger and more comfortable then a Conny or even a Corsair. As for the 400i it's too small for serious operation as an explorer.

i got mine as part of the original exploration pack. lil over 700 bucks and it came with a terrapin and a freelancer dur and a couple of ground things. the carrack is my go to when im out in the verse.
