I remember back in 84 watching G1 premiere. No hype, no lore, nothing. This feels like coming home as a kid, running to the TV, and throwing it on for the first time all over again. Something I don’t think is touched on enough is that Decepticons and Autobots are both still the same race, and still just people of the same world. They can be friends and allies when it matters. Not every Autobot is as peace loving as Prime, and not every Decepticon is as ruthless as Megatron. It’s a society of robots, and the war is a very mixed gray. I like how this film touches on the idea that before the war Cybertronians were just people living life.
