Wait, hold on, if you count touching the frog in Super Mario Land 2 as touching a "Toad", shouldn't you be able to count SMB2 as successful because you can touch Wart at the end of the game, because he's a frog/toad?

For Super Mario Bros. Wonder, you could’ve had Player 1 as Yoshi, because other players can ride the Yoshi players, which requires touch.

The toads in the original Mario Bros have been turned into bricks so technically if you break a brick, you’ve touched a toad.

For wonder, just play as Yoshi and Toad for it to count.

While Toad may have been absent during SMW; this was probably because he stayed to protect the kingdom while Mario, Luigi and Peach went to Dinosaur Land. And very fitting, Toad and Birdo were the only ones around to defend the Peaceful Woods from Wario in Wario's Woods.

You can also touch Toads by waiting for the title screen to end on 3D Land which takes you to a secret room with toads
