    Great playing and lesson. I wish I knew about speed bursts 25 years ago. I always tried to get faster with playing very slowly... It's great that you not only show licks, but also how to practice them correctly.

    That burst practice tip will be the golden egg for some people. That was exactly how I learned to play the intro to Cowboys from Hell, learn it as 3 parts, (1-4 twice on top string was part 1. 1 on A string and 4 on E twice was part 2, and 1-A, 4-E, 2-A, 4-E was part 3.) And I played until I could do each part isolated at quite a bit faster than the actual song, and once I had those down, put them all together at the tempo of the actual song, which was technically slower then what I could play them isolated. It's a super useful way to do it in my experience.
