  • It’s so good to see you back. I’m so sorry for your loss, and for your husband and family. Losing a loved one affects everything. Do what gives you energy and escape and outlet, but please don’t feel pressure to finish books or do tags or the videos you had planned. Do that if you want, if it benefits you, just don’t feel like you have to. Go at your own pace, we’ll be here. That being said, I’m glad you’ve enjoyed your reading and found some escape in Bridgerton 😊 And don’t be embarrassed about your book haul, we all get it and will probably just be jealous! 😅 💜

I'm glad you are back and I'm so sorry about your mother-in-law. I am in the same place this week and I know what you mean about the emotional heaviness. Take care. I have not gotten far with O Pioneers but I'm hoping to in the next few days. Reading time has been sketchy!

So sorry to hear about your mother-in-law -- all my condolences to you, your husband, and your family. Even if you expect it, you can't ever be prepared for such a loss. We also had a matriarch loss in the family last year, and it feels like we need to reshape ourselves around their absence. Sending you lots of love and supporting thoughts in this difficult time. We will bear with you indeed while you find your rhythm again -- no pressure, take your time, do what feels good to you, what you need to find your balance. We'll still be there when you're ready 💛 Take care

Sorry to hear about your mother in law, that's a real gut punch and will of course affect everything. The jump rope game here was called Hop Scotch, maybe that's a different thing? You might like Animal by Sara Pascoe, it's an autobiography of the female body and Pascoe is also one of the best stand up comedians in the world so has lots of humour in it too. I have only read My Antonia from Cather but it was in my top ten books last year!
