Adding More Raw Umber Dark (Lion and Solider Painting Series)

If you've been following my work for a while, you know I LOVE my raw umber dark! There's probably not a painting that ever I've done that hasn't included that color. :)

This painting of the Lion and the Solider is no exception. In this video, I'll show you how I add more raw umber dark (and a couple of other colors) to the Lion's mane to build up the richness and depth needed to make it look real.

I'm using the acrylic glazing technique, where we take a little bit of paint and mix it into a larger amount of matte medium to build up vibrancy, shading, depth, and smooth gradations.
