The fact that school officials believe they have the right to place themselves in between a child and his/her parents is alarming.

In my opinion what they did is illegal and child abuse and these school officials need to be put in prison.

I've always taught my children, if someone says don't tell your mom or dad, that's exactly what you should do. If they don't want me to know something, what they are doing is wrong and you should be scared. Healthy fear is vital for survival.

Telling children to keep secrets from their parents is GROOMING behavior

And yet, they need a permission slip for her child to attend a field trip. What a world!!

What the school did to this family is unforgivable. Keeping something like this from the parents is not acceptable.

This is horrifying. How dare they do this to a child, hide it from that child's parents, and make the parents the enemy. This is evil to the core.

The schools and surgeons should be held liable for all damages suffered by the student as they are too young to sign any contract.

As soon as you hear “ you do not have the right to know what is happening with your child in the school“, move! Pull you’re kid out and MOVE NOW!!!!

If a parent is abusing a child that is what CHILD SERVICES are for. This notion teachers should feel inclined to “keep a secret” to “protect” a child is perverse. Children NEED structure and telling them “you can be whatever you want” is bizarre and unethical.

It’s exactly like this in Ontario Canada. When teachers can tell my kids they can lie to me that school no longer gets to be alone with my kids. I homeschool now.

By the time this video was over, I was sobbing. It keeps running through my mind over and over; if this situation had existed when they were kids, my mother, my grandmother, and my best friend--all tomboys--would have been encouraged to transition. I wouldn't have these wonderful, powerful women in my life. I might never have even been born.
