Orban Rattles NATO, EU With Russia "Peace Mission", Putin Says Ceasefire If Ukraine Withdraws Troops

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban rattled EU and NATO allies by flying to Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 5. Putin said that he wanted to "discuss the nuances that have developed" over the conflict in Ukraine with Orban, who visited Kyiv earlier this week. Putin said he told Orban that Ukraine must abandon four regions in the east and south that Moscow claims as its own if Kyiv wants peace. Meanwhile, Orban in turn said he had realised "positions are far apart" between the two sides and many steps were needed to end the war.     if you don't get the two sides talking, how can you have peace and stop people from dying? The ones condemning Orban's effort seem to have more to gain by continuing the war. They obviously do not have sons fighting in this war and are willing to sacrifice these men on both sides for their political and financial gain.

    You make Russia richer because of your sanctions. France is down, England is down, Germany is down. The only winner in the situation is the U.S.A. with Russia, which becomes richer. As per as Ukraine is done.

    This is the way to bring peace. Talk to both parties. What kind of peace proposal is zelensky and West advocated for that excludes Russia. Total nonsense. Hungarian leader knows how peace can be achieved.
