Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.

It's kinda funny juxtaposing the topic of this video with an ad for a data privacy company, because every one of these apps almost certainly makes money by building a spending profile on you and selling that data to whoever wants to buy.
  • I am happy to say I don't need these apps. I spent $0.00 this month on things I don't need.

Iā€™m 55 from southeastern Ohio but worked overseas all my life. I have savings of $1,000,000 and I'm ready for retirement, only concerned about the soaring inflation. Is this enough to retire comfortably, or do I need some sort of money management?

George, I usually love all your content. These apps are not money making apps! Some save you money but you are trading your data for "some savings". For people who are trying to get out of debt pointing them to deals may make them want to spend more than is in their budget even though there is a disclaimer. I'd be curious to see how much money you made on each app.

Your humor reminds me of Shawn from Psych. Please tell me you watched Psych, George.

Can you make a video geared towards college students finding ways of saving money? Sites for scholarships, ways of saving money on food, stats on average networth, most common student side gigs, etc? Iā€™m an accountant trying to spread financial literacy in my social network.

If you can live without it for 2 weeks then you probably don't need it.
  • @seagirl1100
Love it! 100%. Off EVERYTHING if you DONT BUY IT!

I'll try to sound as respectful as possible just because I am somewhat new to the channel but for credit cards, things that I am forced to pay like bills, what is the down side of having and using a credit card? I would like to be rewarded for things I am REQUIRED to spend money on. Never buy something you can't afford to pay in cash, don't keep a balance on your card, pay in full. I understand a credit card is not meant for some people, potentially most people, but I can't understand what is wrong for a credit card used responsibily. Can I get cash back on my debit card? Or is it just the principle of "Oweing someone money" even if you pay it in full. I can completely understand how rewards can incentivise people to buy stuff which is a dumb decision but for someone who is REQUIRED to pay for something like bills what is the downside?

Target Reloadable Card is good too! You can get the same perks and can use it anywhere not just Target. I have the debit card and reloadable cardā€¦
