Shenango Valley Mall - Hermitage, Pennsylvania [CLOSED]

Welcome to the Shenango Valley Mal located in Hermitage, PA. The mall opened up in 1968 with Sears and W.T Grant as anchors. A year later JCPenney opened at the mall. In 1976 W.T Grants became Strouss which later would rebrand into Kaufmans. In 2006 Kaufman’s would be rebranded into Macy’s. In 2017 both Sears and Macys would close at the mall. In 2024 JCPenney announced it would be closing at the mall due to the mall closing in the same year. May 31st 2024 Shenango Valley Mall closed it doors for good. Redevelopment is awaiting for the mall, the mall is scheduled to he demolished for a new lifestyle center. This footage was shot in 2023 before the mall closed for good. Let’s go take a look:

    By the time the mall closed they had completely walled off the Macy's space. Apparently it got infested with mold shortly after Macy's closed due to an unnoticed water leak. Even if the mall was going to stay open, Macy's would have had to come down
