2024 Election: Mistrust to blame for fewer voters?

Officials are happy that everything went smoothly for Arizona's primary election on July 30, but voter turnout was lower than expected at 26%.

That's 200,000 fewer people participating than projected.

At a roundtable discussion hosted by Arizonans for Secure Elections on July 31, the question of ‘Did some voters choose to stay home because they have been told to not trust the elections?’ came up.

"Unfortunately, a lot of people out there that are disparaging the election system, they just keep repeating the same thing over and over and over. They need to listen," said Former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer.

Brewer sat alongside former congressman Matt Salmon and Don Henninger of the Arizona Democracy Resilience Network and emphasized why there is absolutely no reason to not trust election results.

"There's eyes and ears on virtually everything to ensure the safety of the voting process as we move forward," Henninger said.

Never before 2020 has the counting of votes ever been stopped or paused. How long was the stoppage supposed to be? It sounded like it was to be overnight, yet no one went home to sleep and come back the next morning.

2020 - 133 million registered voters -155 million votes cast. Nothing to see here
  • My friends grandpa got all pissed when she was talking about voter interference. He made them call the voters registrar and they confirmed they don’t really have a good way to compare signatures. They also were sent two ballots.

Its NOT just 2020, its 2022! A WHOLE lot if people cant wrap their head around a wet napkin like Katie Hobbs (WHO DIDNT EVEN CAMPAIGN) beating Kari Lake...🤷‍♂️

A story about voter turnout, and they don’t give you any numbers such informative journalism. They can’t even give you basic information.

Many of us citizens have been very concerned long before Trump and Kari lake.

Yeah well Kari Lake has good reason to be concerned about fair elections; after all she had the governor election stolen from her. Hobbs is illegitimate. But I still voted at the polling place, on election day. I'm handicapped and still made it to the polling place. Mail in ballots are only for people who are home-bound or out of town like active military.
