There is no self but there is an illusion of self . Great video 🏅📈
  • Brother, I am so fluid, my cup runneth over. Seriously though, people are packages of programmed responses that evolve over time as we try out different algorithms. Ego is an illusion. Duality is an illusion. We are one. The Tao that can be spoken is not the true Tao. Your goals, dreams and aspirations are all temporary distractions, they keep you in the game. Who you will become is already written in the fabric of time and space. The best you can do is experience it honestly and embrace the energy field of which you are a temporary expression. Suffering is the alternative. Suffering for those dreams and aspirations. Let go of that. But you see its not up to you. If you are right and I am right and ego is an illusion then its not up to you because you don't exist. You cant have it both ways.
  • Since I found your channel, I am watching your videos every day so I could improve my life and life of a people around me. I have really BIG problem with smoking addiction, I tried million times to quit, but somehow I always back to that bad habit. Smoking is my biggest weakness and I am smoking since I am 17 ( now I am 39). Sport does not help me, I am regular in gym last 20 years, so that is not the answer in my case. I work as music producer mostly and sometimes as video editor or graphic designer, so most of my time I spend in front of my laptop or in studio. When I work I smoke a lot, but when I quit smoking even when I do not have that urge to light a cigarette (5-7 days after I quit) , I can't seat and work, I need to do something manually or just to walk outside. I lost confidence in myself because of that addiction, I do not trust to myself anymore that I will keep my word and that I will complete something that I started, so this is really big issue for me. Thank you in advance for reply and that you for free knowledge that you are generously sharing with us.

I'm studying the book "Transform your life" Your videos are really useful for understanding!
  • I feel like my sense of self is more fluid but flexibility requires different experiences. So what I try to do is challenge myself to complete activities that are new to me, such as learning a new skill, creating a new project, eating at a new restaurant, or listening to music outside my usual playlists. Stepping outside of what I typically know is easier said than done, but I do it.
  • Great content... love the Bill Hicks poster too, it says a lot about you to me.
  • @neurocosm
I am liking all the videos so far! But, this one I am having difficulty with some of the concepts. It's nothing I would be able to get into in the comments section here (discussions are best taken place elsewhere), because I think it centers philosophically about chosen words used here that simply don't work with the idea presented. I am almost there (here?) but there is some more depth to see for sure.
  • I'd say my core is pretty solid. But I often examine outer areas of myself that need improvement
  • I have been reading the book Transforming Your Self by Steve Andreas. The thing that strikes me is how fluid the members of seminar audience referenced in the book are able to have such rich and vivid representational examples of their qualities. My experience with the people I encounter in my world and myself don't have the strong images, feelings, and auditory renditions of their database elements as the seminar participants represented in the book would lead you to believe, let alone manipulate the aspects of their examples with the facility that they do. Am I missing something here? Incidentally I do agree with you that you or no one else can truly know who you are, and we are essentially fluid and resourceful, and that's why we can learn and change.

These are just some semantic corrections but a concept can be real. Something being immaterial doesn’t mean it’s not real. I had a conversation with in philosophy class where we discussed concept, truth and reality. It’s problematic to call self-concept a lie, or just calling anything that you’re not certain about as a lie is because people actually become delusional because of that. From being just plain wacky or downright gaslighting other people
