November 4th, 2009 I turned 19 and this was the best bday present. A lot of us were so lucky to grow up watching the Core Four, and for each of them this was their last WS win, which definitely makes this one special. The Core Four have 19 WS rings all together, which is incredible. And to top it off not only was this the first year playing in the new Yankee Stadium, but it was also the last time The Boss got to witness his Bronx Bombers once again becoming World Champions before passing away the next year. Go Yanks!

I was born 2003 November 8, I was just about to be turning 5 years old when they last won a championship. I’m now going to be 18 soon and I’m still waiting for a 28 championship 😞

This was literally the best World Series ever at 8 years old I miss 2009.

What blows my mind is that Brett Gardner made 65 million despite being league average his career Damon made about 100 mil despite the same. It’s crazy how much guys made before modern analytics. The 2010’s definitely changed though, Jeter and Damon both got the reality check hard in their contract years.
