Unfortunately there has been a scammer or group of scammers using my name to rip of members of the osrs community. This is a growing problem that only recently has been heavily targeted towards me.

Essentially there are players pretending to me in game. They are using similar names to mine and pretending to be me in game. Do not trade these players! I will never ask you for money, account details or other personal information. This video is mainly to bring awareness to the situation.

Thanks for watching

20+ years and the.. "intelligence".. of the RS community remains unchanged. :')

Imagine falling for a doubling scam in 2024
  • @Toyenwny
The oldest trick in the book... The doubling scam! You know what they say: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Seems some of your fans need to go for a run through the Stronghold of Security again. For anyone unaware it's the pit you find in the middle of the Barbarian Village found west of Varrock, it's tougher the further into it you go but it's never something you shouldn't be able to run through just make sure to bring along some food, you get some pretty neat rewards for it too if that's the incentive you'd need :) Edit: As Terranova says in the replies, you can also get teleported there by speaking to Count Check who you can find in Lumbridge's graveyard which is found south of the church which is right outside the castle's front gate :)

My philosophy is that it's better to get scammed in RS than in real life. RS has prepared me for the real world.
  • @PoptartKing99
I don't really feel bad for these people, just feel bad that the scammer is getting gp.
  • @shenanigans1231
Dude I literally saw the flipping rs guy yesterday at ge! He had a group of goons pretending to be benefiting from his doubling.
  • @nagoshi01
This hurts to watch that you had to made this - these scams are so insanely low effort, they make me wince
  • Clearly they didn’t play before 2007/2008 where scams and lures were everywhere, at all times in all locations and nobody was safe. I got scammed once and lured once in 2005-2006 and i’ve never again fallen for it again in game or IRL.

Thank god you released this. I saw them at the ge yesterday, world 513. They will be surrounded by bots talking to them and trading them. It is doing the old doubling trick. I'm talking an army of 10 bots all talking to and trading it. 2 of the bots were even maxed accounts. One of the maxed was so clearly a bit it was coppying word for word the other bots. Too many people were acting like it was really you. Unfortunately another level 126 lost 20m trying their luck after falling for it thinking it was truly you. They then freaked trying to get "you" to add them on discord. I even called the bot out for being non English when it spoke because it was so clear they did not even speak English fluently. Even after scamming and getting called out by that person, the bot army just carried on. No world hop, nothing. Sad to see.

I feel no sympathy for people who get scammed in OSRS anymore. It’s so obvious.
  • @rstitan4791
Got scammed a few times as a kid. But honestly this may be the best learnings for irl. Always be careful and sceptical when things seem too good. But i have to say there a many nice and helpful players out there too, at least what i can remember ❤.

The League was great in so many ways, but arguably the best thing was no spam bots or scammers shouting nonsense at hot spots. Obviously people still keep falling for them because they're still there. Even the thought of giving some gold selling site my credit card number sends chills down my spines. Don't trust people doing illegal stuff.

Its great to see that even now new players get into the game. Even better, they get to experience the authentical old school experience. Good for them <3
  • I ran into one of these impersonators at the ge and people believed that it was you. The scammer also had about 5 alts that were pretending the scam worked. I had to go find your actual usernames and tell them before they listened to me. It’s pretty confusing how easily they fell for it, considering almost everyone who plays this game is over 20.
  • @splattanator7778
He was doing a fake drop party(the other accounts were supposed to pick them up just as they spawn) and doubling but got upset when I picked up one of the whips he dropped before he could get it.
  • @hollowtrees6669
Thanks for bringing attention to this, I've seen this scam at the GE impersonating other creators. Some poor fellow lost his fang to this scam. The few times I've observed the scam it almost feels like a bot script using chatGPT or something.
  • @ms9056
Man, that sucks. Generally I ignore anyone spamming or trying to trade in hotspots like GE. Hope the fakes get banned.
  • @TheBigBoatman
Saw this guy the other day too. As well as 'Blodd rich', one of the hypeman accounts that I can see in the screenshot you have. There was around 6 of them constantly trading the scammer. added them all, one had private on. followed him when he hopped. He then proceeded to trade another scammer (another fake youtuber account), who had his own little crew doing the same stuff. Kinda sad seeing a max infernal cape wearing blood torva going along with these scams (he's the one who had private on, apparently getting his ZCB doubled twice in 5 mins). Of course I knew what it was but was intrigued how little they would run off with, traded 2M and they didn't trade back. Even though I was wearing 2B in gear lol. Makes me wonder how people even got added on discord.
  • @AdamBhay
I just saw you at the GE. Then seconds later my phone buzzes with youtube recommending this video. Creepy!
