Maduro Eyes Third Term As Venezuela Votes to Elect New President

Venezuelans are voting to choose their new president. Around 21 million voters are registered to cast their ballot across 30,000 polling booths in the country. President Nicolas Maduro is eyeing a third six-year term. He has warned of a “bloodbath” on losing the presidential election. Maduro faces a tough challenge from opposition parties that have come together after years of election boycotts. The opposition alliance backs former diplomat Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia. He is running in place of Maria Corina Machado, who was barred from elections by Venezuelan institutions. Independent polls suggest Maduro is far behind opposition candidate Urrutia. The Venezuelan President is accused of harassing the opposition and detaining opposition leaders. Caracas is also ACCUSED of blocking international observers for the July 28 vote that follows Maduro's promise to hold a free and fair election. In 2018, Western & Latin American countries rejected Maduro’s re-election as illegitimate.

If he is a good leader for Venezuela, please choose him without hesitation. No matter how many terms. If not, kick him out. Greetings from Rwanda

No more U.S. dollars to Venezuela.

He WILL take a third term. It wont matter what the voters say. Putin and Lukoshenko hold elections too and for 20 years they're still in office. Why? Because people just love them so much? Asumirá un tercer mandato. No importará lo que digan los votantes. Putin y Lukashenko también celebran elecciones y llevan 20 años en el poder. ¿Por qué? ¿Porque la gente los ama tanto?
