This song reminds me of her other lyrics like "They're the hunters we are the foxes" And "why so many fade but I'm still here". This line made me think of that “joke” Amy Poehler made at the Golden globes 2013, feeding into the narrative of Taylor being ‘serial dater’, making fun of her and telling her to “stay away” from someone whose name I don't remember.

My theory is that the camera cut away from her to soon and that it was a pretend-offended response followed by a smile or chuckle. I wish there was footage of her full reaction (bc she agrees with the joke, there are too many cutaways of her at the games, and that's not her fault and should be called out).

It’s about the reaction to her dating in her twenties onwards.. awards shows etc always made jokes about her. She’s spoken about that in the past. This joke really wasn’t that harsh lol.
