Hopping up a Hopper

Published 2024-05-22
Sorry about not posting a video last week. Things just did not come together in time. This video is twice as long as what I normally post so I hope that makes up for it. So this job involved a decent amount of lathe work on the Monarch and milling on the Excello making the parts. Rotary table got used a lot too. Thanks for watching!

That's a nice project. If I could do similar things for the locals here I would be very pleased. But, of course, I would need to start a business.

Good catch on the tapered throat. That really could have been a foop.

G'day Tom. What looked like a quick project until you got into the depth of the drawings really worked out to be pretty complex. Lining up holes as well as a sliding hatch & getting it to fit properly together with a bonus of everything working quite well is an Excellent job well done. Any back biters should make one to see if theirs is as good a job. Ted

Nice work Tom, I'm sure the customer will be happy. If you have large holes to do, use a Hole Saw ( make sure it is bi- metal) to open the hole out to size and then finish out with the boring head. I've drilled 100mm up to 16mm thick with no problems. Just keep it slow with cutting fluid and it takes no time at all. Cam
