Thank you so much for this episode. Really useful information covering so many if not all questions. I've been watching all the move to Portugal channels for a couple of years now and i just need to bite the bullet and make that finall leap. You're a lovely down to earth couple who we can relate to. All the best. šŸ‘šŸ¼
  • Brian and Diane, another interesting post! You are leading a lovely lifestlye, restoring your cottage, always a project ahead. Do you wade into your stream and collect water to decant onto plants? Thats a saving...i re use, ie decant from w machine, my nice scented Sunlight liquid laundry into buckets and wash floors, and patios and for loo! My family think im losing it..šŸ˜Š Gee, if i couldnt hv my Tetley and fresh cream milk...šŸ˜‚ Otherwise i try to live on 5 units a day..incl heating cylinder for decent shower. A challenge. Bake muffins daily as well, 30 mins, with stone ground flour, taking place of ww bread. Simple living...best. Take good care. Cape town. ā˜”šŸ‡æšŸ‡¦šŸ’›šŸŒˆšŸŒ…šŸšŸ¦‹šŸŒ¼

Brilliant Update guys ā€¦ so helpful to folks like us that are heading your way ā€¦
  • This video has to be one of the most informative videos Iā€™ve watched about living in Portugal. Iā€™m dreaming of coming over there myself, and youā€™ve answered so many of my questions in this video. Thanks so much for sharing all this information, greatly appreciated šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘
  • Thank you for breaking down the costs so comprehensively. This is very helpful for those of us considering moving to Portugal. I have enjoyed tollowing your journey from the start.
  • You crease me up with the banter.šŸ˜‚ Love you both. Whatever you do do not change. šŸ’š
  • thank you so much for all the info, Portugal is much cheaper then the Netherlands, nice to hear
  • THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! the internet has been crying out for an episode like this. We watch multiple PT channels (We are moving over this year) but NOBODY has been this transparent or clear on pricing.. it gives hope and clarity to those wanting to move that it could be achievable. This was much needed and I think it will go viral ! Please can Diane discuss or look into lady stuff like hair cuts, colours, beauty products, skin care etc? Does she get her hair done? Are there any decent hair dressers as I've heard horror stories about PT hairdressers! Thank you

Next to Leroy Merlin in coimbra is a great buffet restaurant called ā€œWok Mondegoā€ it has an amazing selection and lunch is ā‚¬10.90 plus drinks. They let you select fish, meat, shrimp, and veggies and then they cook it to your specs. We highly recommend this place.
  • Hello both, thank you for the insight into the monthly costs, it was very informative and your presentation was brilliant. šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ˜€
  • Probably the best visit to a YouTube channel on real living in Portugal, I hopefully intend to be there by June 2025 šŸ‘ps just found your channel and loving it, bit of back watching and catch up šŸ‘
  • Love you channel two down to earth people live in Rhyl just up the road from where you lived like the way you give all the information on how to lay tiles and each job you do
  • We have a Kangoo as well! Itā€™s a great all around vehicle. Weā€™re able to get by on about 300ā‚¬/month if we have to but we spend up to 600ā‚¬ with building materials and such.

You two are adorable, and the insects love you too. ;-) Keep filming and keep posting. Sharing specifics about your frugal lifestyle helps give me a base to consider so I can add my favorite luxury sins on top. Best of luck to you both!

You are so sweet, such a thoughtful video. Iā€™m in Alaska and pay for the wood the same like you, often more. Iā€™m homesick and canā€™t wait to go home. Donā€™t change! You will maybe never go viral but Iā€™m sure your subscribers really love what you do. It was good to see you! Until next time.

Advise to not use the bottled gas. There was recently a news that is more expensive than if you would attach yourself to the pipes, of course if in your area they have gas pipes.
