wow - best method I've ever seen . I'll never need to remove enough pinstriping to justify the expense but if I had a shop that did, I'd be searching this product right now.

Hi Scott. Been watching your channel over the past few months to pick up tips on paint correction having bought a Jaguar XK with swirled and scratched paintwork. The Jag looks a $M now, so many thanks. My daughter has a BMW Mini Cooper with a Union Jack vinyl across the entire roof. I managed to peel off the blue triangles but the red stripes were bonded to the paintwork after 15 years and were bleached and severely cracked by the sun. A heat gun and scraper did not even make an impression but a rubber eraser wheel (similar to the one in this clip) fitted to my DIY grade Makita cordless drill set at speed II removed every trace of vinyl and the adhesive to the extent that you would not know it was ever on there, once the roof was compounded and polished with a DA polisher. It's not a quick job and took me about 10 hours, spread over 3 days and around 30 battery charges (18v lithium). Using the wheel did not damage the paint in any way at all - which I was really surprised and pleased with. Wouldn't hesitate to use again for difficult to shift vinyl. Bought here in the UK on-line, but since found out they are available from Tool Station for around £8 ($10)

Just bought a 3m wheel a few days ago and a can of O'Reilly's brake cleaner to remove adhesive and removed my pinstripes. Only took me about 20 mins from start to finish working on my Expedition!
  • Sir, thank you for this video, even though it’s old video I need to get this done on my 94 f150 …. How can I contact you
  • @nexamax

So is this something that a detailer should have? I have a 2021 Mazda 6 sedan and it has this pointless vinyl striping on both sides of the car. For what I do not know. Thanks!
  • @JasonTylerRicci
My pinstripes are mostly intact. There's a few knicks here and there. I was gonna just re stripe over the original one. Maybe I'll give this a go
  • Oh gosh, this brings me back to one of the hardest jobs I've ever done...removing the vinyls of 15 policecars. Don't ask how I looked after the job...I was covered from hed to toes..hahaha Mine were from Cartec and you could fit them on a normal grinder ;-)
  • @toolman67
What does it cost to have a shop remove pinstripe from my 4Runner here in Dallas?
  • @3r8mo
I have a 2000 Camry & need to remove pinstripe as I’m putting on a new door what wheel would you recommend for pretty much a one time use
  • @markyrizzo2283
Hey Scott you helped me tremendously on my Dodge Journey but I just turned in my man card and bought a 2018 black dodge caravan. I decided to use carpro essence then cquartz. Do I need to use any type of stripper on this new paint in my wash bucket? Purple power? I will be using ironx and possibly clay, I'll check after the wash and decon.
