Eagles | Hotel California - Live - 1994 (HD)

"Hotel California" is a song by the Eagles from the album of the same name, released by the group as a single in February 1977. It is one of the most famous songs of the rock-oriented album genre. . The writers of this song are members Don Felder, Don Henley and Glenn Frey. The original version of the song by the Eagles features Henley (singing the opening verse) and an electric guitar line by Felder and Joe Walsh.
A rendition of the song appeared on the group's 1980 live album, Eagles Live, and an acoustic version was included on Hell Freezes Over (1994). The Hell Freezes Over version is performed with a total of eight guitars, with a Spanish influence as Don Felder plays a flamenco interlude. During the Farewell 1 Tour-Live from Melbourne, the song was performed almost identically to the original, but with added horns in the opening.

A fantastic classic with great guitar accompaniment and Don's vocals. Beautiful. 04/24
  • Context, because it makes all of this so much better: In 1980, the Eagles broke up, and in an interview with Don Henley on the band getting back together, he said "..when Hell freezes over." Furthermore, Glenn Frey verified they wouldn't get back together. The friction was that bad. However many years later in 1993, various country artists did covers of Eagles songs in "Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles." One artist, Travis Tritt, did a music video for his cover "Take It Easy" and asked the original members of the band to appear in the video. They agreed and appeared after 13 years not together. This is what it took for Frey and Henley to get with their management and ultimately reunite. This video shows what I'm romanticizing the ultimate feeling fans had of their reunion, because this unique version was also featured on their new album with a whole new version of Hotel California (this song). The name of that album? "Hell Freezes Over."
