The event also marked the Princess of Wales’ first public appearance since announcing she was undergoing cancer treatment in March.
After uncertainty about whether she would be well enough, she last night confirmed in a heartfelt letter to the public that she would join other senior royals.
Her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, were by her side.

Please note HUGELY important fact - PRINCESS CATHERINE IS THE COLONEL OF THE IRISH GUARDS! SHE WAS THERE TO TAKE THEIR SALUTE! Her role as Colonel was why she made such an effort to be there. She stood up at the window whenever they passed + saluted them at the end. She was just as much there for them as William was for the Welsh Guards, or Edward for the Scottish Guards or Princess Ann for whatever her regiment is.
