Even if your outdoor or EDC knife does not have a manufactured bow drill divet on the handle, you can, with a little cordage and practice, use your knife handle as a bearing block. Become proficient with this skill, & you could save yourself valuable time and energy otherwise spent harvesting and preparing a suitable bearing block from the landscape.
