Just because the package I was forced to buy to get the couple of ships I wanted came with like 10 combat ships, doesn't mean I want combat.

non-combat based gameplay also sell ships, non combat industrial ships are expansive, prospector and vulture aren't cheap, reclaimer is a 350 dollar ship, large cargo ships are like 400 dollars, even all-in-one cargo ship like the Taurus is a 200 dollar ship. there are people buying fighter jets so they can do combat, there are also guys buy vulture and a cargo ship as a non-combat combo so that they can avoid any combat.

Texas has two winters. Seasons you can’t grow shit.
  • Another nice one - Thanks ! One major problem on this subject i see is that we have a VERY vocal minority in this game that is all and just about combat. PvP, FPS, "everyone's a Pirate" people that come from DCS, Coutner Strike, CoD, etc. where only ever interested in these ways of playing the game without realizing that they WILL have to rely on support from players that prefer a less or non combat activity. We also all know how much drama and noise we get once a flight model changes, mastery modes get released, weapons change, etc. - we get thousands of vids all about "This changes everything..." just because this creates clicks - more drama - even more clicks. Therefore CIG percieves this as a common interest and continues to focus on all the "CoD / DCS" pew pew stuff without keeping in mind that now less and less people talk about the other actual professions. Nobody talks about the Starfarer that needs a a rework - just like the Reclaimer with it's broken elevator - outdated compartments - and other issues, the Mole where you get spotlights everywhere you don't need them - filtering functions missing and so on... The content creators shape CIGs perspective on what players are interested and give certain players a platform to vocalise their opinions. Also do they freely advertise CIGs product. Everyone goes crazy about this capital ship throwing torpedos - so now everyone wants to fly capital combat ships - because that's gonna work ! Since CIG can't even fix ladders, elevators, spolights, redundant or unused ship compartments, etc... on ships that are smaller and years older i wonder in what state these bigger clickbait ships will be. I do like combat of cause ! But i'm nowhere nearly interested in doing combat on the level of players like "Avanger one". There is just no point to even try and fight with these players because they do nothing else and no regular player even sees a point to invest that much time to get to this competitive level. I only see more and more combat vehicles released and taken care of - and "confirmed" spectrum complains (some years old) about issues of industrial ships that haven't been taken care of still... those are the facts. I just wish CIG AND content creators would focus more on the existing broken issues of industrial ships than baiting all the PvP FPS people into a game where they'll find more to complain about than they are happy with (although this still creates free marketing for CIG).
  • Like Space Tomato, I could listen to Griffin all day long. Great speaking voice. I do want to point out that aside from the Javelin, we have a fairly good idea when ALL those ships are coming out, and they haven't even discussed starting on the Orion or Endeavor. And the Javelin is in SQ42. So of course we'll see all of them before those other two.
