As a dry skin, acne prone individual, I agree this topic isn't discussed enough because people generally associate acne with oiliness. The best ingredient I have used by far to control my acne has been azelaic acid. It's a powerful ingredient for acne prone dry skin individuals since it is a naturally occurring acid on the skin and less irritating than benzoyl peroxide

I’ve waisted a lot of money buying skincare products which doesn’t even work, I wish I found your Chanel earlier💔💔💔☹️
  • @oluchiedith2610
My struggle 😭😭 dry skin and acne is tricky to treat cause most products are targeted for oily acne prone skin
  • @ongbc8674
My acnes cleared up by simply avoid fragrance, essential oil and alcohol in my skincare products. Thanks Dr. V.
  • I've found it extremely frustrating relying on branding and claims on the bottles of products. I'm so happy that this channel exists. Even though I can't buy the products recommended in India, atleast I know what to look out for in the ingredients in products sold here.

Thank you so much 😭 no one talks about acne prone dry skin. I'm so grateful ❤️ I can't afford a lot of the products but thanks for the information 🥺
  • Hello Dr. V could you please curate a skin care routine for Hormonal acne sufferer with skin of color? The battle is real! The pain and the scarring too! Thanks already! 💜
  • IT IS LIKE YOU READ MY MIND DR V! Wow, I was just thinking this morning how dry and tight my skin feels but I also have acne. I was confused how to deal with this, so thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us!

Dr. V- pale skin of Northern European decent here, but I have learned a ton from your videos as well. The basic science is so helpful and there is learning in the compare and contrast. I also love recommending your channel to friends and family with skin of color.

Dropping a comment to say that this video is a godsend. My skin has changed in the past few years and I think it's mostly dehydration -- I'm over producing oil in a way that I never had before and it's causing breakouts in a way I've never experienced. I'm totally fed up, so I'm going to try overhauling my skincare routine with this guidance, and if that doesn't work then I'll attempt to find a dermatologist that understands skin of color. Wish me luck!

thank you! my brother really wants skincare but he really doesn’t know what to get, and since i have dry sensitive skin i really didn’t know how to treat acne and help him, thank you so much!

Please make the video. Let's call out all the brands that make misleading claims. 12 months from now I am hoping to be able to shop for Dr V's skincare line. Please make it happen. ❤️

Yay...finally a video that describes my skin to a "T".I always get frustrated because it seems that it is assumed that all acne sufferers have oily skin.Throwing out all my alcohol & parfum containing products has helped plenty.THANK YOU!!!

If you’re like me and really struggle with products burning your skin, here’s my routine that has really turned my skin around in a few months. (inspired by both dr v and dr dray) Morning: -rinse with Luke warm water only. -apply niacinamide to dry skin -apply vanicream moisturizing cream -sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen Night- -Wash with cerave sa cleanser, pat dry - apply alpha Arbutin all over -apply azelaic acid to problem spots -apply vanicream moisturizing cream -follow up with occlusive like Vaseline, cera be ointment or vanicream ointment (currently vanicream) I also switched my toothpaste to a fragrance free toothpaste as I notice some burning around my mouth when brushing. I’ve been doing this routine for about 3 months and my skin has completely turned around. No more dry flaky spots, no red irritation, hyperpigmentation is slowly fading, no more big angry pimples. I definitely recommend if you’re struggling with any of those things. Edited to add; I don’t apply to completely bone dry skin, but patted dry with a clean towel.

I WAS WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO😭❤️ I have dry acne prone skin, turns out I started doing this and used all these products already and my acne went after 2 years! That’s how you know I’ve been binge watching Dr V. Thank you for the knowledge you’re sharing🥺❤️ can you do another video on PIE after the acne x
  • I've been struggling with acne for the last 10 years. And, thanks to the invaluable advice on your channel, I finally understand my condition and my skin well enough to treat it. You are doing amazing work and helping thousands, if not millions of people. Thank you.

I damaged my skin barrier because of using harsh face wash and stripping my skin with strong actives to get rid off my acne and oil,it made my skin extremely dehydrated and oily at the same time, now all I use is cerave moisturizer and a bha serum once a week. I'm seeing huge difference in my skin.❤
