I met her once. There’s something very mysterious and enigmatic about this woman: she’s had an incredible life from her fame at an early age to her escape from Romania and her life in the USA since then; and while she absolutely knows what her name means (she’s probably still the most famous gymnast in the world), she’s very humble about it and uses her fame for very good causes. She owns her celebrity but doesn’t brag about it. It’s a mixture of detachment, humility and natural strength. She’s fascinating.

She was a cute little girl back then, now she’s grown into a confident and humble beautiful woman..Respect legendary Nadia❤️❤️❤️

Even in the Philippines when she scored the perfect 10, we all went crazy about her. Everybody knew who she was!!
  • The perfection of her performance is unmatched. Simone Biles has taken it to a new level, and that’s to be expected as the sport evolves. But Nadia’s ease and her absolute, effortless perfection is, still, unmatched.

When she was a young Romanian gymnast, you could see a cold, hard determination in her eyes - a drive to compete and win, no matter the cost to herself. It's good to see a more relaxed look on her face as a married adult. What an icon!

"I think that I was in a great shape at the right time" Really humble woman

She is a true sports icon, a legend, a legacy. She is just as admired here in India as in Romania or USA. Best wishes to her growing years of life.

She's not only the most talented gymnast of all time but she's also very beautiful and elegant
  • She made all 10's in the Olympics...unbelievable. However the true spirit inside of her is also perfect 10's. To hear her story from her is humbling. She defected but when she was able she returned to help those who also need her help in Romania. She is the definition of a true Olympian.

"Nadie como Nadia" or "Nobody like Nadia"that was the slogan on the Mexican press when she got the 10.

Only 14, Nadia Comaneci was not only the 1st ever Gymnast to be awarded a Perfect 10 which was awarded at Montreal Summer Olympics 1976, she also scored a Perfect 40 (40/ 40) in Uneven Bars (Compulsory routines Uneven Bars, Optional routines Uneven Bars, Uneven Bars All Around and Uneven Bars Event). Simply brilliant.
  • In my opinion, she is a shining example of the ultimate champion. I see her as the eternal darling of not only gymnastics, but The Olympics, both past, present and future. She possesses the quintessential athleticism, attitude, disposition, personality and temperment to be, as Plato describes in his teachings of the ultimate forms, the ultimate champion. So it's not only her perfect 10.0 performances in the 1976 Olympics that make her great, it is how she has carried herself throughout her life, as a Romanian and an American citizen. Nadia continues to score 10's as an inspirational human being; in how she touches everyone throughout the world and will continue to do so, for years and many generations to come.

She had absolute control of her body, extremely impressive.
  • I was watching when she received the first "10." I was so in awe of her. I wrote to her and she sent me an autographed photo of herself at Disney World!!! I still have it and I will cherish it forever.⭐

“You made me feel like I could do anything too if I just worked hard enough” hit me hard. Watching the Olympic Games at 22 with no above-average talents made me feel like I wasted too much of my life to do anything notable. But watching this I was just filled with this sense/knowledge that with hard work and determination I can achieve huge things too :’)
  • I was watching in the US when the 1.00 came up. Total shock and disbelief that they gave her a 1. Then the "10" was announced and everyone went wild. It was an AMAZING moment.
  • I was 16 and we all loved and idolized Olga Korbut and learned elements of her routines. She was phenomenal and legendary and made gymnastics what it is today. And Nadia took it to the next level of perfection and there will never be anyone who compares with either of them. And Nadia grew up to be such a beautiful woman, performer, wife and mother. She is such an inspiration and so sweet and humble with the willpower, focus and determination as a child to achieve the greatest things she can. She is a gift to the world
