CRUISE SHIPS MAKE CHANGES BECAUSE OF CIVIL UNREST

No big ships. Smaller is better. So now princess is going to punish people who don't take a package (that's us) because we don't drink.

Carnival is really taking a risk....more and more in demand ports are not welcoming these mega ships.

Wow. A lot of great information today. Seems like all the ships are in competition with each other to build at least the same size of ships as their competition or even bigger. I’m not a fan of those bigger ships, so I will stay with the Royal size princes

Absolutely I use Internet during all of my cruises. It is very frustrating. I have found Princess to be better than Carnival, NCL, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Disney, and Virgin. But there still are issues. I was SUPER excited and willing to pay more for it until I learned that it will only be available to Princess Plus or Premier packages. I am angry that Princess is making it even more difficult to just get the basic fare and taking away options to force into buying the Plus/Premier packages. I only drink water and plain coffee. I don’t want to pay for a drink package. The price of tips and my Elite discount for Internet for only one of us is no where near the $60 per person per day for the two of us to get the plus package. When it was $40 I paid it, but it wasn’t even worth it then. I don’t care about juices, fitness classes, special desserts, or even the restaurants like Alfredo’s that they took away and added to the Plus package. I think the better Internet should be available for anyone to purchase.

There are the same number of baby boomers as Gen Xers, Millennials and Gen z’s. However, baby boomers are the wealthiest and want to spend their money on small ships. Build them, we will come.

Agreed we need vista or smaller like the Venezia big enough. Too hard to get off with thousands of cruisers

Unfortunately the bigger the ship the more impersonal the ship becomes. D

Smaller ships, like the size of Carnival Legend are the best size. IMO! You can get a seat at the shows without the need to book. The bigger ships become shopping malls on water. The activities are always crowded and the shows are nearly impossible to get a seat. The tours also are sold out before you get onboard. Not to mention the crowds in the buffet. A need for smaller ships for your older passengers who are more likely to have mobility issues.

Thank you, Don, for the updates but I'm one would like to see some smaller ships. Thinking they keep making more Mega ships that going to add to the problems in the seaports.

Why can't princess just have some smaller ships that normal people can afford

With all the new ship building, I hope the cruising market doesn't crash. With those new ships also come higher costs. Eventually, people may look at other more cost friendly vacations. I wouldn't want to pay a lot more for tge upgraded wifi/internet. Connecting is the most important thing to me while on vacation. Enjoy tge rest of your cruise.

I like many others am not a fan of having to buy the packages to get superior internet service. For those like you and Tony, who actually do cruise info can see where it’s beneficial. For others it’s a shame they can’t get away with from work and actually relax! I use the internet some when cruising if I can justify the expense but most of the time I just wait till we are in a port . That is sufficient for us! Our family has the cruise information to call us if there is truly an emergency situation or life or death issue. With all the satellites that SpaceX is placing into orbit the prices should be coming down. What it comes down to to is individual priorities. Some people can’t live without their phone and some can live without them.

Definitely not a fan of big ships, I'll be staying with the older smaller ships
