I have good news and bad news. Good news is that people seem to love the video which is great because I loved making it! Bad news is that this will most likely be the last Outer Wilds video I make. I would love to make more but honestly I’m not sure what else I could do. I did this video which covers basically the whole story, and the iceberg which covers almost everything outside of the story. And while that is sad news I’m super proud of both these videos and I hope you will continue to stick with me as I make videos similar to this one for other games you love. ::)

Owlks: Circular spacecraft with simulation world that could live forever. Nomais: Vessel with advance warp core that could travel through galaxies. Hearthians: Wooden space ship.
  • @Supermac97451
I love the idea that the owl guys technology is good enough to store consciousness onto a computer, but they hadn’t got as far as full motion video
  • @jhamPlays
Dude this is THE Outer Wilds lore video.
  • @DeathDefiant
I can't remember where i saw the comment, but it was something like: 1 eye called out 2 eyes tried to hide it 3 eyes tried to find it, and 4 eyes managed to unbind it...

Gods almighty, that voice-acted recording of Escall's Folly (24:00) is absolutely heartbreaking. I lejit got choked up hearing it and remembering the first time I read the scroll walls inside the Vessel for the first time, putting myself inside the Nomais' heads as their home collapsed around them without warning, with no way to fix it or call for help. 100/10 video.

Every time I'm reminded of this game I get emotional. Can't believe how great of a job they did on such a "small" scale game (still a ton of work obviously went into it). Even just hearing the banjo line gets me.

Y'know what? I was gonna make a joke comment, but this video actually just deserves a heartfelt "thank you and well done". So thank you. And well done! The way that you ended this, by allowing the rest of the lore to be explained by our own individual experience of the game, was so perfect that it immediately brought back my entire memory of playing this game from years ago. Bravo!

I am not able to understand how a MASTERPIECE like this is under 1 million views. Congratilations for your PERFECT job with editing, scripting and everything else. I wish you all the best.
  • @Dkgow
Knowing in the end now that the "start" of the game is actually the 9millionth iteration of your character "starting" their journey just makes it even more amazing that this game was made the way it was. My only question about it, other than to make a perceived notion that you are on a different timeline, why wouldn't the probe be sent to the same direction every single time after you are communicated and linked with the statue?

I honestly cried a couple times while watching this video driving to work. Well, I'm in the office right now and i feel myself tearing up once again. This video is a great conclusion of a great videogame. In the beginning you said this game changed your life and i have no idea why - it didn't make me rich, it didn't give me new knowledges, nothing of that. But i cannot help but agree with you, now literally everyday i end up thinking about this experience or bits of it. It's just incredible. Thank you Edit: btw, side note.. great editing, building and writing too. This is a very well made video regardless of the subject

This might be my favorite thing on YouTube about Outer Wilds. The comprehensiveness, the voice acting, the dedication, I come back to this over and over again just to listen to you explain this wonderful game to me as many times as I can. Bravo for this, this is a masterpiece.
  • @tamkish
For anyone wanting to "experience" the EotE but is incredibly incompatible with horror games (like me) and cannot finish the DLC on their own, lookup "About Oliver" and his playthrough series. It's a good alternative to getting the puzzle pieces in somewhat intended order and slowly figuring out what's going on.
  • Remember next time you think your life amounts to nothing. You don't know the consequences of this "nothing" and how significant you were to this universe in the end. I lost my mother recently shortly after completing Outer Wilds. This game prepared me for times of grieving, helped me to make to know how to say farewell to a loved one even if I'd give everything to have those damned twenty-two minutes to go back and keep her alive. I hope Outer Wilds helped many other people to deal with loss and existential dread. Thank you for the work you've done and to all of you fellow travelers, take time to roast a marshmallow. The night sky is beautiful, company is good and who knows ? Maybe this moment could be the most important of your life, even if it lasts only twenty-two minutes.
  • I just finished the game a few days ago. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. Tomatoanus posted a speedrun explained video. Then, your content pops out of no where. Outerwilds is definitely trending again.
  • @PixelQuick
I love that the nomai were so advanced that once they checked their equipment was functioning correctly, the only explanation was that the eye was no longer broadcasting its signal. That's how sure they were of their tech
  • @catbreakout
Just came across this video and one hour has never gone this fast as watching this video! Well done! What I also like about the owlks is that, at the ending, given you free the prisoner, he stands in the dark, away from the campfire. He shows guilt over his species closing off the signal of the eye. Even after all the years that he is imprisoned by his own kind, he still takes blame of what they've done. It really shows how emotional the owlks can be.
  • @Steve-lu1nc
I like to imagine that the Mobius Digital team had a watchparty for this video. The amount of work you put into it is staggering and it really shows, thank you!
  • @jerri1918
DAMN! the Escall's Vessel scene hits 10 times harder with that reenactment! 10/10 stuff!!!!
