This Watercolor Portrait took me 5 Months...

Publicado 2024-07-15
Hello fellow Traveler of Worlds!

This watercolor portrait took me 5 months to complete... It was ride haha I went through so many emotional stages with it. I also thought I would never get a result I'd be pleased with and that I should just be brave and accept the semi-bad version.
The thing is: I'm stubborn and I was set on conveying a feeling through the vision I had in my head. It might have taken me 5 months to get there, but I finally managed to create a result I'm happy with. It turned out it was never about being unable to create the piece, but rather that I was trying to force it during a bad time.

Long story short: this journey made me realize the importance of flowing and moving with life, instead of always pushing through.
Moving forward I'm letting the setbacks and wins all be a part of a moving whole unfolding at the times when they're meant to, not when I want to.

This video is a bit different than what I usually create but I hope you still enjoy it.
I appreciate you all so much! Thank you for being here and for watching.

The biggest hugs and all the love from my puppies and me.
- Frederike

Lol, love the broccoli description. I love broccoli, but not when it's overcooked. Or just about any overcooked vegetable. You're brave wearing a white shirt and painting! I would have had some colorful splatters on it for sure. It sounds like quite a challenge, and hopefully it is still going well. Oh, the slow motion filming sounds too funny. I think the painting turned out pretty good - I love her peaceful expression and the colors. Very enjoyable vlog, Frederike!
  • ❤ I love the perseverance, discipline but also the gentleness you were able to show towards yourself. Beautiful work! Beautiful video! P.s. Watercolor on a large scale is very difficult. You should be so proud of your work and progress! Sending love! ❤

Wow wow wow Frederike, your paintings are sooo beautiful but the final one is... I don't know... breathtaking? All the small details in the water. You can be proud of yourself! It's been a few days ago I've been asking myself: "when will there be new video from Frederike??" hahha And I am actually reading a book in norwegian, it's really funny and I have been thinking about you when I read in that book because of the language haha... Well... thanks for this video :) and a big hug from me my dear!! Elena
  • Your video was really "aangenaam " to watch , the dramatic classical music at the start of your painting was fun , please don't be shy to show your art , you showed up , you keep on going and you did a good job ! Did you ever tried to look at your art as if someone else made it as if you saw it in a gallery or artshop ? ? I often try that and I feel less judgemental (is this even an English word lol) . When you feel the fear remember it doesn't need to be perfect (as you say yourself) you always can start again over and over and so is life of an artist , every artwork is a challenge 😉. Enjoy summer with your cute dogs and the beautiful environment as much as you can here the summer alas is one of much rain ,clouds, wind and few sun . Have a lovely week 🍀
