I was half expecting you to say "Troy has a generic flip-phone, a perfect fit for his generic personality"๐Ÿ˜‚
  • @ytwa0615
The fact that the antagonist was blonde and the protagonist was brunette in HSM was such a culture shock for 7 y/o me ๐Ÿ˜ญ still love sharpay though

a 47 minute analysis of ms sharpay evans' looks? i'm sat
  • @gleewhoseline198
Just an important reminder you can love Sharpay without trying to make her the 'real victim'. She isn't even a villain, she's just an antagonist, there's a difference.

sorry that all of the footage is flipped, disney was giving me a very hard time with this video! ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Ashley Tisdale seemed to have a blast hamming it up as Sharpay. I recall that in one "Suite Life" episode, where Maddie and London switch lives, we get to see Tisdale act like a diva, a subtle nod to how she and Brenda Song initially auditioned for the other's role.

Ashely being paid in sharpayโ€™s wardrobe is so iconic what

Sharpay always the best dressed character, I coveted her fabulous style as a preteen. I was way more invested in her drama than in Troy or Gabriella's, and Hollywood apparently agreed, since she received her own spinoff.

Not me thinking her wool monstronsity was her best outfit ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…

this is the first mid-2000s style analysis video that has ever actually felt accurate to my memory of being a teenager at the time???? and the reference photos? ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ absolutely yoinked me back to high school

Bring back HSM style for the kids PLEASE. Theyโ€™d looks so cute in tankinis and lace instead of trying to look like theyโ€™ve already graduated from college ๐Ÿ˜ข bring back childhood
  • @Deva-fi6qt
BEST CHARACTER FROM HSM EVER! No one can make me hate you Sharpay Evans!!

So the reason Drew Seely did Efron's singing in the first film but not subsequent films -- All of the songs for the 1st film had already been written before casting. The part of Troy was written for a tenor. Efron is a Baritone. Seely is a tenor. The final choice came down to those two. They liked Efron's looks and acting the best, but he couldn't hit the high notes already written for the part. So they had Seely sing for him. -- Subsequent film's music for Troy was written for baritone range, so after that Efron was able to sing for himself.

That pink dress and giant hat combo in sharpeyโ€™s fabulous adventure might make a fun Halloween costume
  • @JakobMeier-jn4hg
I have to say, I never associated Shapey with pink, but with blue and silver. For me, the real Shapey was always the one in blue, silver and sometimes white. Mainly because that's when she shines the most and best.

Spot on as usual! I would add that the rise of cowboy boots also coincided with the rise of American jingoism in general in the early 2000s, pushing the โ€œAll Americanโ€ look into popularity

what always gets me about the hsm movies is that they live in new mexico and are constantly in layers lmao

I saw an interview of the high school musical cast where they all mentioned that ashley tisdale was the one most like her onscreen character so i think her fashion matching w sharpays and her wanting to take it home makes sense
