It would be nice if piglins had a rare chance of bartering a nether explorer map that guides you to a nether fortress

As some people have pointed out, the biggest problem with the librarian changes still hasn’t been fixed. Even at master level, many of the enchantments aren’t sold at their highest level, meaning you’ll need to do more anvil combinations to get the best gear. Due to the anvil limit, this may make it impossible to get all the enchantments you want.
  • @TheRealWormbo
The tricky thing about having the jungle and swamp maps point to structures is that those structures are far less common than the biomes themselves.
  • @isaacklein5546
If Mojang is absolutely sure on this villager rework, they need to add some sort of structure that has at least two villagers into the swamp and jungle biomes. Almost like those igloos you can find. The cartographers could then sell you those maps to go and save their friends.
  • @ShortManRob
Biggest issues: -Librarians' weaker trades create an even bigger need for anvil rework -Finding the biomes wasn't the main issue. The distance from the nearest biome can be over 10,000 blocks away. Without an elytra with ample fireworks and/or nether travel, that's an insane distance to travel alone. Now on top of that you have to transport villagers, who can't be lead or lured.
  • @thomasfplm
I like the cartographer change. But it doesn't completely solve the problem of the villagers from various biomes, because a big complain is about transporting them.
  • @crazytiger6
Problem is that it’s not just a bunch of traveling, but if you want swamp and jungle villagers it’s traveling with villagers, which, as we all know, is incredibly tedious
  • I feel like this can still be confusing for the new/returning players, but being able to purchase maps to guide you through different biomes is definitely a massive change as you don't need to explore the world aimlessly, bloating the world size. Hopefully something could be done with the nether as well. Perhaps a rare lodestone-compass barter that could lead you to a fortress or a bastion. Anvil prices and mob transportation system are still a problem tho, hopefully they get addresses soon.

I think the version with the curse of binding shouldn't cost diamond at all, making the deal more appealing. Alternatevely, they could even change the curse to curse of vanishing.

Just thought of an issue. These maps are looking for a structure... not a biome. For example, the swamp maps are looking for a Swamp Hut, not a Swamp. Meaning it could be overlooking significantly closer swamps as it scans for the closest Swamp Hut. Yeah you get a guaranteed Swamp from the map... but from your nearest town, you could have just gone north 500 blocks and ended up in a swamp... but their map sends you 3000 blocks south, and you'd never even know.

Them updating Villagers would be a good time to provide added functionality to those tables they've left abandoned for so long. I also get the sense that changing around trade tables means they're going to be changing how many emeralds players can get from trades. They're probably going to have to increase the amount of emeralds generated by the world, otherwise the game's difficulty might be magnified substantially.
  • @amogu_
The new changes are very welcome, but I'm still a bit worried about the librarian rebalances conflicting with the anvil limit. Mojang seems to not want to address that at all, which is strange because it feels like they want players to use the enchanting system more, but that's held back by the anvil as well. Honestly, the anvil limit should either be increased or removed, and repairing completely overhauled. It's a very old system that's remained pretty much unchanged for almost a decade and it desperately needs an update
  • @robertpriel1111
Adding a chance for a random FIXED biome specific ZOMBIE villagers 🧟‍♀️ to spawn in would fix the single biome world issue for this new update!
  • @shortzero9
I really like the new maps (but will be using chunkbase instead anyway) but there’s still a huge problem with all of this. This doesn’t feel like a fix or a rebalance it feels like it’s just been made to be a bigger time sink. There’s some good ideas but I still think the bad outweighs the good and the system feels worse for all players.
  • Great coverage! The only problem I have with this update is that I still don’t see the harm in getting max-level books from villagers. All this change is doing is making it more tedious to get simple, necessary enchantments like Efficiency. Two lucky rolls on the enchantment table will get you Efficiency V, yet it takes four expensive books from villagers to get the same enchantment. I think it’s a great idea for different biomes to yield different books! But the cost makes nothing worth it other than the swamp villager for Mending. That being said, I think everything is is spectacularly done. I can even get behind the more expensive diamond gear. Just give books more bang for their buck, Mojang!
  • @beamteammom5431
I thought cartographers sold mansion maps as their last trade. I think that’s why you couldn’t get them. Loved the video! Very good explanations of the changes.
  • @RyanEglitis
The problem remains with this system that the swamp and jungle village enchantments are nearly undiscoverable in-game, since no villages exist naturally in those biomes. Also the fact that both the most important and second most important enchantments in the game require setting up said villages.
  • @porgy29
I feel these changes are pretty bad for more casual players. They wont know why their villagers are now selling cursed armor. They wont have Elytra to fly between villages in separate biomes or as much ability to build a network through the nether to connect them. I get that there are people who have completely broken Minecraft, and these changes seem to be made to weaken what they can do. But there are a lot of people who play Survival who have never killed the Dragon (or seen it), who dont spend all their time on wikis or youtube videos, and/or who are scared of a single death wiping away days of progress.
  • The map doesn't necessarily fix the issue you could know where you're going but you could be traveling thousands of blocks for a certain book and of you die on the way you loose a lot of hard work And for those who say you could just use an eltytra you need to remember most people are gonna want these books before fighting the dragon and before the eltytra

For the Ender pearl gamerule "bug", it might be because you were on auto-respawn so it may not have considered you as dead to despawn it
