Imagine if gasoline cars at the turn of the 20th century would've had imitated horse cart sounds to appeal to the public.

It's the Beyond Meat of EVs. Chick'n instead of Chicken. Internal Combust'n.

A crazy road trip sounds kind of fun, though đź‘€

Simulating engine noise with accurate torque response is a very fun, video game-like idea that takes electric cars in a playful direction. I wish that Hyundai fully leaned into the video game customization angle and added extra downloadable "performance profiles" like a "Stuttgart flat 6" or "Maranello v12".
  • 3:19 Uh sorry? The ioniq 5/5N is one of the fastest charging cars on the market... You must have mis-spoke...

No man is too rich til you leave the earth you leave with nothing
  • @GodofGHz
"Not the fastest charging car either." Excuse me, what? Thats the main Korean party trick, they charge faster than any other EV today
  • @MichaelPanzer
How is this "not the fastest charging car"??? What the hell is faster? This is Taycan territory
  • @DhruvDrives

I got to drive this car a few months ago, and the fun you have with this cars can not be showed in a video, loved the car!

I don’t hate EVs at all, I actually really like them, but there hasn’t been one that I’ve ever wanted to own (aside from the Taycan or Lucid Air Sapphire but that’s expensive). This particular car is so appealing to me, and I couldn’t care less about if it had sound or not, I just want a fun car to drive. Seeing fun EVs like this or the incorporation of hybrid into popular cars makes it way more appealing than it’s been before. Edit: The “supersonic” sound reminds me of the weird and whacky cars that the Ridge Racer games would have. This car seems like a video game car in real life, which is so cool to me. I can see some getting extremely mad at it.

the ice car imitation is a lot more useful on the track because you’re reliant on a ton of different cues that you wouldn’t have in an ev

The idea of this in the future is beyond exciting. Imagine being able to fully customize power delivery to mimic whatever kind of power or drivetrain layout you want. RWD, FWD, AWD, Turbo, Supercharger, NA, engine size, cylinder count, ect. I don’t ever want combustion engines going away but electric cars have the ability to be utterly incredible

The fact that Hyundai is putting in the effort to make EV "fun" is awesome. If this catches on and is perfected, a whole new segment will open up. I'm thinking better sounding and realistic engine sounds. Maybe the option to download new sound packages. 🤔
  • @EzekielElin
MKBHD really out here saying IONIQ 5 is not a fast charging car lol

I've had my eyes on the Ioniq 5N since they announced it. Really hoped the range was a bit more, but I think it's worth it.
