Never knew about cadence. But I definitely relate to the 155 🤣 Feet hurt after a run like I’ve been stomping all day.
-
not just help decrease injury but help to slow down heart rate also

I think this is a great video. same speed, different cadences. a lot of people dont seem to realize that cadence does not mean faster or lower speed. you can run the same speed but at different candences. but it's not easy! I'm working on cadence training now.... and I can't seem to slow down - I dont have a treadmill... so it's something I am actively working on. also, I bounce too much while I run at a lower cadence... which of course... sucks out al your energy.

I can’t tell a difference besides him moving his legs faster. It gets me more tired when I try to increase my cadence

Mine is like 151 I just did 3 miles. First time in forever. But I’m actually kinda overweight and I’m 35 years old oh and I’m flat footed lol
-
Did my first HM in 1:31 but now I'm trying to fix my cadence. I average 155 and tried to go to 165 with a metronome but it was really difficult. If i do an easy sliw run does my foot just kick back less so i can cycle it back to the ground faster? I feel like I'm shuffling my feet.

Look at the heels and how they are lower at the end comparing to the beginning of the video

175 is still pretty low. All the elite marathoners are in the 180-200 spm range.
-
Increase more cadences in the same speed means the time my foot contacts to the ground is shorter, right? And is it any matter in increasing cadence if i’m a midfoot stride ?
-
I do 175 at treadmill with 2 inclined

I’m running for quite some time now and I still feel like I run worse than I should be. I’m running 12km, 3 times a week, but my times and pace are not that good. At least, not what I strive for. In zone 3 I usually run at 6:10/K pace and zone 4 5:30/K. My times are slowly getting better tho, but still… I just learned about Cadence and why it matters and checked my numbers. Found out I average around 145 each run. Do you think this can be the reason I’m ‘slow’? Can increasing my candence result in faster times? I believe 145 is really slow, but how does it affect me besides more risk of injury?

And what is your speed setting on the treadmill?
-
How do you maintain a fast cadence at a low easy pace? 10-11min
-
Show me just one (1) study that shows that a higher cadence has any advantages in running.
-
Is 175 spm a good cadence for slow, easy runs or for speedwork? Like tempo and meter repeats
-
But how do you change it..
-
Mine is 150 and I my 5k PR is 18:44.8 in 9th grade but I got big legs for a 9th grader

Hi Brodie. My cadence averages about 180 (It's always been like that, I never intentionally changed it) but I notice from my watch stats on my slower runs that it starts out mid 170s and gradually increases to mid 180s at the end. Is that indicative of anything relevant? I keep my pace pretty consistent.

Is a 170 good?? For a 7:23 mile pace for 3.57 miles??
