  • Levi... I REALLY think you should continue this format of curating an introduction and showing your face, sharing the impact these guitarists have and why you choose these specific clips. To grow your channel and make it unique. Just from the variety of guitarists you exhibit on the channel it is startling to me how exactly similar our tastes are haha. Thank you for doing this!
  • He was 18 or 19 when he did that. One of my favorites. He Has broadened his playing quite a bit. One of my favorites.
  • Excellent video capsule as usual. I always love that guy, and even more now that he soften his playing.
  • Bro I have to say that I dont know half of the guitarists you've been posting about and its so freaking cool and exciting learning about them as they are all PHENOMENAL players! So awesome! And the fact you put tabs with them too is just a cherry on top! 👏👏👏
  • Rock Chop is my first guitar instructional video. I was so lucky my friend introduced me with this incredible underrated shredder as a reference.
  • He's also got an amazing singing voice...and he's good looking too! Which is a major factor for continuous employment, especially for bands like the image-conscious Poison!
  • This is insane, i remember when i watched this for the first time. Seeing it now with the transcription, i feel like want to take my guitar and see how it works on pratice. Insena work!!
  • I think this was perhaps the second or third REH video I purchased, and it blew my mind. Again. Some amazing content in those days and it had a commensurate price tag!

There he is.... And because he's such an amazing singer, he just built his soul and passion up .

I’m 50 next year and I can remember so clearly when a fellow guitar friend gave me his solo album when I was 16 or 17 . I’m so glad this type of playing was around then . Those guys from that era were just incredible players and kotzen to this day is still unreal .
  • @Shamino1
The amount of power and distortion they were experimenting with back then, including scooping every fret, made it so as long as your left hand knew the motions your right hand barely did anything at all. Lot of sloppy playing came out of that era, which was refined and honed into the almost mechanical-levels of prodigy we have today. The ones who always had good technique are the ones still playing today- and he's no exception.
  • @Weloz92
My favourite 😁 As a younger guitar player, I'm extremely grateful to have been able to watch all of the Kotzen's instructional videos here on Youtube: "Rock Chops" is absolutely iconic and out of this world, but I personally prefer "Hi-tech guitar", since it's definitely more similar to his current "bluesy" style of playing!
  • @Dajizoids
This brings me back to the good old shredder/hair band/shrapnel records/instrumental guitar days
  • Incredible transcription and playing. In fact, all the REH videos were mind blowing.
  • I beg pardon Levi for I forgot to wish you the best this holiday and this new sub wishes to thank you for your posts. I bid you peace and good health in these crazy daze! WOOF!
  • @logancleary374
Holy shit, you transcribed this; nice! I've been learning from the VHS tab booklet and now I have this to reference, thanks!
  • @TheRichie213
My dad rented this for me on VHS back in the day. Hot licks with Ritchie, Yngwie, George Lynch, Paul Gilbert ect..
  • Th winery dogs are my favorite trio of all time. Melodic and technical while sounding ingestible by non musician types.
