Journey fans: what is your honest take on what has been going on with the band the last few years?
  • It's a shame when the legacy of great music gets tarnished in the name of greed.
  • Gregg Rolie hanging onto his publishing was as very smart move on his part.
  • Arnel is a sweetheart. I’ve met him. He also saved their asses and helped bring them back up into them public awareness, when they were at their lowest-yet they reward that with uncertainty and disrespect.
  • It really seems more and more like Neil is the primary instigator in all this crap.
  • There is so much drama that I truly don't care any more. Whenever there's a concert with Journey on the bill, you can't even keep track of who is going to be in the lineup. They've effectively destroyed their own legacy.

The ultimate huge hits that made Journey famous were written primarily but Cain & Perry! Agree with so many comments about greed by Schon. Sad to end the Journey legacy this way.
  • I’m a Journey fan from the Steve Perry days. It’s sad what’s going on with the band and that it’s no longer about the music. Clearly, Schon and his wife are trying to squeeze every last dime out of the “Journey” name. The band has been over-working Arnel for years. It takes a lot of money to live like a “Rock Star”! Isn’t that right Neal?
  • Neal is the source of every bit of drama that has followed this band !!
  • Steve Perry must be super happy to not be involved in this anymore and just enjoying his retirement
  • Team Rolle. He chose not to deceive the audience with what was obviously a shady cash grab.
  • @VGKDean
Neal Schon’s greed has ruined this band
  • This is quite a 50th anniversary for the band! Honestly, every member old and new should all get into a big room together and work things out once and for all. Then, if successful, go out and do one massive farewell tour together for us fans. Afterwards, retire, have closure, and go enjoy life again.
  • It seems to me the common person in all these disputes is Neal Schon. It looks like, and I might be wrong, that Neal is the jerk here. I hope whom ever has their head up the dark side, gets it pulled out before all is lost. What a shame that would be.

Journey ended in 1987. Steve Perry voice is not replaceable. I was blessed to have floor 2nd row center seats back in 1985. I wish that night would go on forever. It was amazing night I will not forget. But with Steve’s departure, it was no longer journey.
  • I would love to see Steve Perry, Ross Valory, Stave Smith, Gregg Rollie, and throw in somebody like Billy Squire on lead guitar! I feel sorry for Arnel Pineda, he seems like a great guy!
  • I have said it before and I'll say it again - at this point, I would much rather see Gregg Rolie, Ross Valory, Steve Smith and Steve Perry get together again on a new project, any guitar player will do, and maybe Perry can find a song where he and Arnel can sing a duet together, it would be a massive seller, Perry has much more clout than Schon anyway at this point.
  • I find it sad that one of the most successful bands in history are ending on such a disgraceful note. These are all old men that are all very wealthy and to ruin their legacy by going out fighting over money and egos is just beyond belief. The biggest names involved have more money than they could spend in five lifetimes. Why let your last years be about drama instead of letting the music speak for itself and celebrating their collective talents? Money is not the problem. The LOVE of money is the root of all evil.
  • Greg had a great band in the 90's "The Storm". He has been on so many albums through the years. He was and is a great player and singer.
