Expect this one to be done pretty soon as well. Fortunately, I didn't had to record a new playthrough for Dream Drop Distance too, as the one I recorded when 2.8 came out is pretty recent and in full HD at 60 fps already.
I've always planned to use my original DDD playthrough for this portion of the Timeline, except for 1.5 and 2.5 which were recorded when the PS3 versions were released, and I did need to record them again with better quality.

It's worth mentioning that the basic timeline/chronology concept worked already pretty well with the original DDD gameplay system. The Drop system naturally let us switch between Sora and Riku all the time, letting us complete a world almost at the same with both the characters. Which is why I intend to work on this similarly to the Re:CoM portion of this project, playing as both Sora and Riku in the same world, switching between the two of them during gameplay and following their own storyline in the worlds.

About KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE:

KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is an incredibly massive project I've been wanting to do forever. The only thing that was stopping me from actually working on it was the still-incomplete plot of the χ[chi] portion of the whole saga, which is also the most confusing one. However, I did want to deliver this before the release of KINGDOM HEARTS 3, so we could have the perfect road to the final chapter of the Xehanort saga at our disposal and relive, together, all of the chapters in a definitive and never-seen-before way.
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is, in fact, different by any other playthroughs or projects around because it is composed of all the Kingdom Hearts titles released so far placed in chronological order. Beware – the events are actually settled chronologically. Which means that every single cutscene and/or gameplay part will follow the exact order of the events of the saga. For instance, the birth of Vanitas will be shown before the Mark of Mastery exam, and so on.
Every episode will start with a screen showing a complete timeline I created purposely for this project.

KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE doesn't want to be a simple movie made of cutscenes. If It were to be like that, there wouldn't be anything special about it. This project actually started as a playthrough, giving, of course, priority to story content.
Sitting and watching a 25 minutes video made of cutscenes we've been watching for a decade is just as boring as anything else. Gameplay bits have been thoughtfully placed to make sure you won't fall asleep when watching, giving their contribute for a more immersive experience. They are necessary for keeping people interested and entertained in a never-seen-before way to re-live the saga, watching multiple characters fighting at the same time, as well as showcasing the worlds and the variety of enemies we'll encounter through all the titles.

Finding the right balance is not easy and not always possible –due to countless technical restrictions related to music, episode length and such– just as it's not easy having everyone thinking alike. Of course, I can't make everyone happy, but I did want to point this out.

Lastly, I want you guys to know that the amount of effort being put for this is massive. There are countless hours of work and dedication I've spent (and still spending) for this, for something we all love and care about. My channel is, after all, always been made of this – content that will grant you one of the best levels of knowledge and enjoyment of the Kingdom Hearts saga – and, as much as it's stressful having to translate every Japanese Union χ [Cross] episode, I still do that to deliver the latest story updates of the saga for you.
My main goal is working as much professionally as I can and add details where normally people wouldn't add. Not liking a content is totally fine, whereas insulting and posting offensive comment is not. There is nothing worse than spending your own time to show dedication for something we all love and see offensive reactions coming back at you. For this whole project to be completed, suggestions and questions coming from fans are well accepted and needed. If you do think this deserves appreciation, leaving a Like on the video is more than enough to me. Thank you for reading all of this, and please enjoy!

Sora: I have finally regained all of my powers. I can even dual-wield now. Not even Zebra-man can defeat me. Yen Sid: It's time for your Mark of Mastery exam...and you will forget all your powers. Sora: But why? Yen Sid: Because I said so.

"I already proved myself." Considering the Keyblade literally chose you as a fallback, I'd like to think you did too.

I love how if you look at the stats in this game, it clearly shows at the beginning that Sora had zero resistance to Darkness, where-as Riku had a 10% resistance that can be strengthened throughout the game. Just a nice bit of foreshadowing in the gameplay.

It's pretty nice to watch Dream Drop Distance cutscenes in chronological order. Having early Yen Sid Tower cutscenes as flashbacks was a creative move, but it's great to see how the story begins in the correct order.
  • HERE WE ARE, THE FINAL SEASON BEFORE III!! I like the way you incorporated The Foreteller's theme during Yen Sid's explanation of the Keyblade War :'D

I loved how this game gave us Traverse West and South to finally explore. I had been wanting to do that since the original.

Seeing the start of this game in chronological order makes me finally understand what's happening at the start of the game on the raft.

Man, they really set up from the get-go Sora's naivety being his downfall w/ Neku's pre-drop bargain. Oh, my sweet boy has so far to fall.

The more I think about it, the more I believe that if I had lived into that universe I guess I would have ended up following Xehanort's path... After all, he's only really following his heart, questioning and seeking the truth of his reality, whist ended up clashing up against the said heroes whose work is to keep the balance and order of things in place. Is that not the purpose of a conscious life to question things and push boundaries? Man I don't know... I think I understand why Nomura would relate himself to Xehanort and see Sora as some kind of nemesis embodiment. Sora and his friends only accept and follow the reality that they're told. Mindlessly. They never try to live up to the endless possibilities of having a human conscious reason past their childish first desire to see what's beyond the horizon of their world. For Xehanort it never was an answer but the start of a greater search. What I mean is, I think I like Xehanort. The dude dares to challenge the order of things. It takes some real balls.

5:00 Riku: Heh, sap Donald: 500 munny says Sora screws up Mickey: You're on Goofy: Say fellers, why are Donald and I here? Shouldn't we be guarding the castle?

Nice, using the appropriate music for Yen Sid's monologue of the Keyblade War!

I'm so glad you're going with this direction for Dream Drop Distance. It feels like Birth by Sleep, KH1/0.2 and COM again; multiple stories at once. Since this game isn't completely linear, unlike KH2 and Coded, it's really cool to see these events between Sora and Riku played like this.
  • I always love how Neku looks Sora over when Joshua explains Rhymes ability. I can imagine saying quit your bs under his breath lol.
  • If there's one thing I absolutly love in DDD is the fact I got introduced to The World Ends With You. I just wish they would've got a better Arc Ending in DDD, like the FF crew in KH2
